Texas Football Recruiting 2012: 3 Targets Mack Brown Still Needs to Reel in
Texas has a remarkable 25 commitments and seven are inside Scout.com's top 100. This class could end rivaling the famed 2002 class that Mack Brown hauled in.
The Longhorns are just about done with their 2012 recruiting and are just basically waiting for that first Wednesday in February to come so they can round up LOIs. Yet, I'm going to give you three prospects that Mack Brown needs to reel in.
Hook 'em, Horns.
Landon Collins, S
1 of 3Collins is a 5-star recruit and one of the top players in the country who can play safety and outside linebacker.
At 6'0" and 210 pounds, Collins shows to be uber-instinctive in the box, physical versus the run, and rangy to chase and pursue.
Alabama and LSU will have something to say about Texas getting Collins.
Mario Edwards, DE
2 of 3A 6'4", 280-pound monster of a defensive end—and, in my eyes, the most complete DE prospect in America right now.
Edwards has the strength to play the run, anchor, stop and stack at the point, and shed blocks. Then he has the speed to chase and pressure passers all night long.
Edwards is still committed to Florida State, but LSU, Texas and Oklahoma are well in the mix.
Dorial Green-Beckham, WR
3 of 3Everyone wants Green-Beckham, including Texas, as the Longhorns hosted him for an official visit a earlier this fall.
At 6'6" and 220 pounds, Green-Beckham has the hands, separation quickness, catch-in-crowd ability and playmaking talent to become a dominant receiver in college.
Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas are other schools to watch out for.
