WWE: The Best Venues for Attending PPVs & Other Major Shows

Chris HumphreyDec 20, 2011

Throughout the history of the WWE, the company has broadcast some of their greatest events over the years in some of the best arenas and stadiums across the world for their pay-per-views or major shows during a respective year.

As we prepare for next year's WrestleMania, taking place at the home of the NFL's Miami Dolphins, Sun Life Stadium, in Miami, and the Rock/Cena showdown, let's take a quick look at some of the best venues the WWE has had for their events and others that have yet to experience a WWE event.

Cowboys Stadium

1 of 8

With talk of a future WrestleMania coming to Jerry World in Arlington, the WWE and Cowboys Stadium will be a team sooner or later in the coming years as the attendance record at the third WrestleMania in the Pontiac Silverdome will be shattered, as the new home of the Dallas Cowboys holds over 110,000 people.

Staples Center

2 of 8

As the yearly home of SummerSlam and other events throughout the year, the Staples Center is the biggest and best arena in the second-largest city in the United States, so you know as the WWE comes in droves for an event, they will be taken care of at the state-of-the-art venue in downtown Los Angeles.

Lucas Oil Stadium

The house that Peyton Manning built in Indianapolis could be a future site of a WrestleMania, as the brand new stadium opened in 2008.

It has a total capacity of 70,000 people for a event like a WWE PPV and the retractable roof and wall could protect fans from the elements in March/April for the granddaddy of them all in the future.

Rogers Centre

After hosting WrestleMania VI and XVII in the past, the former SkyDome, now Rogers Centre, could be a great venue to host any of the major events on the WWE pay-per-view schedule.

The two previous WrestleMania events set the attendance records through the years, so it's a must for the company to return in the coming years.

Mercedes-Benz Superdome

Just like Cowboys Stadium, there has been talk of a future WrestleMania taking place at the home of the New Orleans Saints, which was recently renovated like other arenas on this list.

A big WWE event could bring a great deal of revenue to the city of New Orleans as the Crescent City continues to bounce back from Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Wembley Stadium

If you're old enough or have a good knowledge of how to use YouTube, it would be awesome to see the WWE return to the new Wembley Stadium and London for a major pay-per-view event like that of the 1992 SummerSlam instead of just a tour through the United Kingdom after WrestleMania and Survivor Series.

Lincoln Financial Field

7 of 8

I know this might sound a little strange but go with me on this one. How about a future SummerSlam in August in the City of Brotherly Love instead of its traditional home at the aforementioned Staples Center?

While it might be hard to fill the Linc with that many fans for a SummerSlam, the sight of the WWE at Lincoln Financial Field for one of the Big Four would put the gears in motion to make the company a mainstream entity again in the world.

Madison Square Garden

How can you beat the World's Most Famous Arena?

The history between the WWE and Madison Square Garden is legendary as the venue has held some of the biggest events the company has put on including Wrestlemania I, Wrestlemania X and Wrestlemania 20 in addition to the most recent Survivor Series event headlined by the Rock and John Cena teaming to take on Awesome Truth last month.
