Michigan Football Recruiting 2012: 5 Commitments to Get the Most Excited About
With the college football season coming to a close, it's about that time to look forward to the recruiting process. Which top players are going where and which teams can land the most impressive young talent?
Michigan usually always has a top recruiting class, and this year is no different. The Wolverines already have 23 commitments, and several of them are at the top of their position.
Here are a few of those players that Wolverine fans should be the most excited about.
LB Royce Jenkins-Stone
1 of 5Jenkins-Stone is a 6'2", 215-pounder who can run the 40 in 4.5 seconds. He is very athletic and very aggressive, as he is always making plays in the back field. He does have to work on not overpursuing so much because sometimes he ends up missing the tackle all together.
But overall he is a great linebacker that will make quite a few plays for the Wolverines the next few seasons.
De Tom Strobel
2 of 5At 6'6'', 265 pounds, Strobel is an athlete that can drop back in coverage or disrupt plays in the back field. He gets to a ton of pressure on opposing quarterbacks and has the ability to chase down running backs.
He never gives up on plays and relies on speed to get in the backfield in a hurry.
Strobel should compete for playing time right away and make several big plays throughout his Michigan career.
OT Kyle Kalis
3 of 5So, you think it's hard to get excited about an offensive lineman? Watch the video and tell me you won't enjoy seeing this guy run through defensive linemen and drive them back five to 10 yards.
The guy is an absolute beast at 6'5", 305 pounds. He has a motor that just does not quit and a great combination of power and strength.
He will become one of the top offensive linemen in the country and has a chance to start every game for the Wolverines from day one.
LB James Ross
4 of 5James Ross is one of the top linebackers in this year's class, and Michigan fans are going to love him.
He rarely ever misses a tackle and majority of them are hard hits. He has great instincts and seems to always be in on the action.
In his first year in high school, he had over 100 tackles, five sacks, seven fumble recoveries and an interception. You can expect him to be very productive for the Wolverines.
CB Terry Richardson
5 of 5Richardson can play either wide receiver or cornerback and will be great at either position. He may lack size at 5'9", 165 pounds, but he is extremely fast. He has great hands and great instincts on the ball.
He also has the ability to play special teams as well and take a few kicks the distance.
Speed is always fun to watch, and it's one of the reasons Michigan fans should be excited about Terry Richardson.
