Steelers vs. 49ers Power Outage: While Stadium Fails, 49ers Find Plenty of Power
Monday Night Football was brutal for fans to watch, but more so for Steelers fans.
The game began with a delay, and that is never good for a stadium clinging to its last breaths as a viable football venue. The game ended with Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers being sent off the field after a 49ers whooping. The ankle was too tender to be competitive.
Candlestick went dark on Monday night, twice. It may have been the last straw for a franchise that has aspirations of entering a new stadium in Santa Clara. The two power outages that delayed a marquee game was embarrassing to the 49ers.

This proud franchise was hosting a big game in what was essentially a shanty. It's a good thing that the defense and Aldon Smith went to work in order to restore the good name of the 49ers organization.
By the end, it was hard to determine what looked worse—that Candlestick couldn't hold a charge or Roethlisberger continually being bullied by the Niners' pass rush.
It was clear what was more effective, as San Francisco asserted themselves as a scary team entering the playoffs with a 20-3 home win.
Big Ben came into Monday with a hobbled ankle and the courage to play on it. By the end of the game it was clear that Mike Tomlin should have started Charlie Batch instead.
Roethlisberger didn't have the ability to scramble and went down far too often as the Niners just pummeled the Steelers' offensive line.
Three interceptions and multiple times laid out on the turf later, the Steelers were sent off in humble fashion. Dignity had been restored in San Francisco. Which is remarkable considering they failed to pay the electric bill.
