Ravens vs. Chargers: How Hot Is Norv Turner's Seat After Sunday Night Football?
Don't read too much into the San Diego Chargers' 34-14 win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night. A late-season winning streak shouldn't save head coach Norv Turner's job.
While the Chargers have won three straight games in impressive fashion to even their record at 7-7, the only thing that should save Turner's job is a trip to the Super Bowl.
Last night the Chargers played like they should have been playing all season. They protected quarterback Philip Rivers (zero sacks) and lo and behold, he turned in a phenomenal performance against one of the league's best defenses.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
This yearly pattern of stumbling then turning it on at the end of the season shows a complete lack of urgency, fire and focus from San Diego. In addition to that, clock management and discipline have been horrendous over the past few years. All of those things fall squarely on the shoulders of the head coach.
Turner is a heck of a nice guy and frankly, I hate seeing nice people out of work, but he has proven over and over again that he doesn't have the stuff to be a head coach in the NFL.
To have any shot at the playoffs, the Chargers will have to earn it on the road against the Detroit Lions and Oakland Raiders. Neither game will be an easy win and even by winning out, San Diego won't guarantee itself a spot in the postseason.
With the talent he has on his roster, Turner should have gotten much, much more out of his team this season. Even a miracle 9-7 finish won't save him. Unless the Chargers end up in the big game, there is no reason he should return as the team's head coach.
