Dick Jauron Stays: Continuity Is King in Buffalo
King Ralph Wilson has deemed his chief priority for the Bills' 2009 season to be continuity. Therefore, Jauron will retain his head coaching job next year.
Although many thought that Wilson would either fire Jauron or someone else on his staff (Schonert, specifically), neither is the case. This is a very noble decision by Mr. Wilson and his so-called "inner-circle." But what have they done for us (the fans) lately?
Bills fans want answers. They want change. They want improvement. But most of all, they want success in Buffalo.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
This time of year, between the regular season and the playoffs, is a time when losing fans are not ready to give up. They have stuck together and rooted for their team, win or lose.
Now that there is no more football to root for, that energy is pointed to the front office and staff. Bills fans want success to be guaranteed.
Well fans, guarantees for success don't exist. Once the playoffs run their course and the offseason starts, any gripes that Bills fans have with the retention of Jauron will have dissipated. Buffalo does need change, but a little continuity can go a long way as well. Jauron is respected among NFL coaches and personnel, and is highly respected by his players.
Whether you like it or not, it is probably in the team's best interest to keep Jauron. Although their record was 7-9 once again, it seems like the pieces they do have are just starting to fit nicely.
Another year of experience for these young players will go a long way. The pieces to the puzzle are almost there. Let's not shuffle things around too much...yet.
Continuity is the only way to ensure that Buffalo's positive strides will continue in the right direction. Hopefully Jauron and his staff can make the right changes in the right places and get Buffalo on a path to the 2009 playoffs.
