Roberto Luongo—The Vancouver Canucks have been actively shopping Roberto Luongo, but to no one’s shock, no teams are biting at the offer.
Oh how the mighty have fallen.
There was a time when many people viewed the trade of Roberto Luongo to the Vancouver Canucks as the steal of a lifetime in the NHL, but Luongo doesn’t look so good.
There is no way the team will be able to trade that monster contract Luongo carries, so the fans in Vancouver should be prepared for years and years of mediocrity.
Shea Weber—There have been reports that the Flyers were interested in Shea Weber, but there is no truth to that rumor. The only team actively pursuing Shea Weber is the Nashville Predators.
Weber is the captain of that Predators team and the backbone of that franchise right now. They will sign him to a long-term deal and make him the Nicklas Lidstrom of the Nashville area.
While many fans doubt the Predators will pay that much money for a player, they have no choice. Weber is the captain of the team and the face of the franchise. He won’t be going anywhere.
Bobby Ryan—While it has become obvious over the past few weeks that the Buffalo Sabres want in on the Bobby Ryan sweepstakes, that is a move that the Anaheim Ducks won’t make.
The Ducks have played terrible this season, but it is far too early to give up on a fantastic young player like Bobby Ryan. That’s why Anaheim made the coaching change.
With Bruce Boudreau behind the bench, the hope is that the team will start playing well again and the team won’t have to trade anyone.
