Bernie Fine Scandal: Gloria Allred Will Help Accusers Break Syracuse's Bank
Syracuse University and Jim Boeheim will be paying two of the alleged victims in the Bernie Fine scandal from now until eternity by the time Gloria Allred gets through with them.
High profile cases are nothing new for Allred. She has been taking on controversial cases of public interest since the early 80s. This suit reportedly accuses Jim Boeheim and Syracuse University for defamation.

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
Michelle Nichols of Reuters reports that power civil rights attorney Allred released a statement stating "Davis and Lang would hold a news conference later on Tuesday in New York to announce the filing of a lawsuit against Syracuse University and 'explain why they feel it is necessary.'"
Her clients are stepbrothers Mike Davis and Bobby Lang. Both of the men were ball boys for Syracuse when they allege the assaults took place.
As Nichols reported, "Davis said the abuse happened 'hundreds of times' until he was 27, while Lang alleged it occurred 'numerous times' until he turned 19."
ESPN.com's news services are reporting that they have heard from sources that this will be a defamation lawsuit against Syracuse and Jim Boeheim.
Base for Case
Jim Boeheim is likely in deep regret over his statements when these allegations first came to light.
Boeheim came out and said, as quoted by ESPN, that the accusers were "liars." He didn't stop there either. He went on to state what he thought his motivation was for the accusations.
"You know how much money is going to be involved in civil suits?" the longtime coach told reporters. "I'd say about $50 million. That's what this is about. Money."
In an ironic twist of fate, it now appears as if he will be the basis for that civil suit. And the reality is that the Syracuse coach was already regretting these comments.
The Associated Press reported the next quotes from a contrite Boeheim on December second.
"I believe I misspoke very badly in my response to the allegations that have been made. I shouldn't have questioned what the accusers expressed or their motives. I am really sorry that I did that, and I regret any harm that I caused.
"
It was insensitive for the individuals involved and especially to the overall issue of child abuse.
Forking Over the Coin
You better believe that Allred will mention what amounts to Boeheim essentially admitting he defamed the alleged victims. Being employed by Syracuse, the university is going to be on the hook for a big chunk of change.
The announcement of the lawsuit is going to be for a staggering amount.
There is no way Syracuse is going to let this go to trial. They have suffered enough PR damage, and the defense is not in a good position to win this case. This matter will be quietly settled out of court.
