Betting Line
Duke -13, according to statfox.com. While Washington hasn’t been the most consistent team in the early going, they have too much firepower for Duke to cover such a large spread.

What’s At Stake?
In a down year for the Pac-12, the Huskies could get the biggest signature win in the conference if they can take down Coach K’s squad. The Blue Devils, meanwhile, are just playing to maintain their current standing as the nation’s fifth-ranked team and a serious candidate for a top seed come March.
What They’re Saying
Washington guard Terrence Ross recognizes the pressure his team is under after a 4-3 start. As reported by The Sporting News, Ross said, “I feel like we have to win every game now,” adding, “If we come out with a victory (over Duke), it could really help us in the future.”
Coach K, for his part, has plenty of respect for tomorrow’s opponent. He told CBS Sports that Washington “may be the most athletic team we face this year.”
Washington Player to Watch
Huskies’ center Aziz N’Diaye has to keep the Blue Devils off the glass. The 7’0” N’Diaye is bigger and more athletic than Duke’s Plumlee brothers, and a big game from him inside would really help the Huskies keep pace.
Duke Player to Watch
Austin Rivers, Duke’s much-heralded freshman guard, has been effective if not overwhelming in his first year on campus. The Blue Devils’ leading scorer at 15.6 points per game, Rivers will face a stiff challenge against Washington’s aggressive perimeter defenders.
Key Matchup
Washington G Terrence Ross vs. Duke G Andre Dawkins. The 6’4” Dawkins, Duke’s biggest guard, will likely draw the assignment against 6’6” Ross, the Huskies’ leading scorer at 16.6 points a game. If Dawkins can’t contain the hyper-athletic Ross—and the odds are against it—this game could come right down to the wire.
Prediction
Duke has shown it can outlast better teams than the Huskies in a close game, and even after a one-point loss to Marquette, Washington hasn’t proven a whole lot this season. The Huskies have the athletes to run with Duke, but when it comes down to the last couple of minutes, the Blue Devils’ experience will make all the difference.
