WWE News: Is Triple H Failing at Scouting and Producing New Talent for WWE?

Drake OzDec 9, 2011

The WWE definitely seems to be in a transitional phase.

On top of the WWE losing legends like Shawn Michaels and Batista, the company also appears to be giving Triple H more day-to-day responsibilities as Vince McMahon gets up there in age.

Triple H has been given a lot of power in his executive role to help scout and develop new talent and then bring them up to the main roster. Only, we haven’t really heard much on how officials backstage are reacting to his performance so far.

Now, however, we have an idea of what they think of Triple H and how he’s done in his new role.

From the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via SEScoops.com):

"

There have been some jokes going around WWE lately regarding the people that Triple H surrounded himself with as the WWE’s talent development division. They have been mostly guys in their 20s, with several described as jacked-up meatheads that doesn’t know anything about the wrestling business.

Additionally, the first few talents Triple H has brought in have been busts thus far. Sin Cara’s early run was plagued by botched spots and injuries, and Kharma’s now on maternity leave, so neither had much of an impact.

"

Obviously, the first part of this report is meant to be a rib, but it does have some merit. Since Triple H has taken over in his new role, we’ve seen Mason Ryan get a bit of an unexplained push (it’s unexplained because he’s not very good). Meanwhile, another recent report indicates that Triple H is high on FCW wrestler Damien Sandow, a guy who I think fits the phrase “jacked-up” pretty well.

That being said, I don’t think Triple H is really looking to fill up our TV screens with guys with bodybuilder-type physiques. After all, we've seen recent pushes given to wrestlers such as CM Punk and Daniel Bryan.

What's more, I don’t think Triple H can take the blame for the failures of Kharma and Sin Cara, either.

Unless he’s the one who impregnated Kharma (which obviously isn’t the case), that was her doing. She was the one who got pregnant at quite possibly the worst time ever. Her debut had been going well until she had to be written off TV.

As for Sin Cara, it was his decision to take whatever drug it was that got him suspended. Furthermore, it was his failures to adjust to the WWE style that have made his WWE career less than stellar so far. Obviously, you can’t say it’s Triple H’s fault that Sin Cara got injured, either.

These things happen, and I actually think Triple H needs to be given some credit for signing both Kharma and Sin Cara. Give them some time—they could certainly both be successful.

Do the same for Triple H, while you're at it.

He may not have had a top-notch performance in his new executive role up to this point, but he’s as qualified as anyone to scout and judge talent. I have faith in him being able to turn things around.
