WWE/TNA: 12 Former Managers Who Would Be Great Today
Managers are a dying breed in wrestling.
For years, they were as important as the wrestlers. They spoke for their stables. They acted as interference so the heel could win by cheating. They also could get in the ring if they had to from time to time.
And they were as colorful as some of the characters we grew to love and hate.
And right now the business of wrestling needs a few of these managers/characters.
Capt. Lou Albano
1 of 12Take Albano from his glory days and bring him to the WWE.
The man who took 15 tag teams to world titles has a place near and dear to my heart.
Sadly, Albano passed away in 2009. He would have been a great addition to the Usos and their quest for tag team gold.
Paul Bearer
2 of 12Whether he is included in the new Kane angle has not been determined.
Bearer was a great find for the WWF/WWE when he came aboard with the Undertaker and then Kane.
Could he work more of his "magic" in resurrecting both their careers again?
Missy Hyatt
3 of 12Something is missing from wrestling.
While we have Vickie Guerrero with the WWE and Karen Jarrett in TNA, there needs to be a happy medium.
Enter Missy Hyatt.
I am sure everyone can agree she would as something "special" to the brand she chooses to work for.
James Mitchell
4 of 12Mitchell may have one of the most signature looks in all of wrestling and would be so awesome in a WWE angle right now.
Could you see him as the one who leads Kane back to prominence on Smackdown?
He should be on camera because the eyebrows are just too sinister.
JJ Dillon
5 of 12He managed one team that defines wrestling greatness.
Dillon managed others in years before the Four Horsemen, but his signature move was to guide a stable of champions.
He would be awesome in TNA, as a newly formed stable needs a manager or maybe to help Christian with his "coalition" of sorts when he comes back from injury.
Paul Ellering
6 of 12Can someone tell me how a man who managed two of the baddest men on the planet got the nickname "Precious?"
Ellering was as calm as the winds on an Kansas dust field. He spoke with the wrap of his Wall Street Journal and he spoke the gospel of how his men, Hawk and Animal, would rule wrestling.
He was right on that account.
Ellering would be a great manager for Austin Aries.
Mr. Fuji
7 of 12Every time I see this picture, I think Fuji will be in a James Bond movie.
Fuji was just the sinister Asian manager who added everything to the WWF after his ring days.
He was funny as hell in interviews and probably would love a crack at managing another tag team. Joe Hennig and Husky Harris could use his services. Maybe others.
Paul Heyman
8 of 12Wrestling needs Paul Heyman.
The man who brought us ECW and some of the best extreme matches of all time needs to be back in the business.
TNA is crying for a man with that vision to lead them to challenge the WWE.
Is he still up to the task?
Jimmy Hart
9 of 12He would certainly need to be back in the WWE.
Just the thought of the loud-mouthed Hart on television brings a smile to my face.
And just a thought, maybe he could help Tyson Kidd's career along or form a stable with Kidd, Natalya and Beth Phoenix?
Paul Jones
10 of 12If you manage the likes of Rick Rude, Manny Fernandez, The Barbarian, Meng and Pez Whatley, you must know what you are doing.
Jones was an old-school manager who would be well served in TNA, possibly looking over a stable of young heel wrestlers or a tag team such as Crimson and Matt Morgan.
Gary Hart
11 of 12The wrestling world and Gary Hart are like a common bond.
Hart brought you great international stars like Muta and Kabuki. But he also managed men like One Man Gang, Abdullah the Butcher and Al Perez.
If Jinder Mahal needs someone to steady his career or maybe Abyss, they should see about Hart's services.
Slick
12 of 12Quick-tongued Slick was a hit in the WWF.
He would be a welcomed addition with the aid of say, Teddy Long?
Slick could manage the likes of Brodus Clay or David Otunga or even Heath Slater.
I just want to see him in the white suit one more time.
