BCS Bowl Games 2012: Oklahoma State Will Slaughter Stanford in Fiesta Bowl

David DanielsDec 4, 2011

Andrew Luck will suck in the 2012 Fiesta Bowl.  The hyped NFL prospect won’t necessarily play poorly under his own power, Oklahoma State will just overpower Luck and Stanford.  The Cowboys were cheated out of a national championship bid by the BCS and they’ll have something to prove on January 2nd.

Ability to execute and intensity win football games more than talent does.  Oklahoma State will play with a passion that the Cardinal won’t match.  Mike Gundy’s club should without a doubt be facing off against LSU, so they’ll show no mercy to Stanford on their mission to show that they deserve to be playing on a grander stage.

Passion alone, though, won’t slow down Luck and Stepfan Taylor.  Luckily for the Cowboys they’re stacked beyond belief.  They boast the best offense in the entire nation and a defense that's just hitting its peak.

Oklahoma State’s electric offensive attack is headlined by Justin Blackmon, the best wide receiver in the nation.  At 28-years-old, quarterback Brandon Weeden is a leader like no other.  Halfback Joseph Randle rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns against the Oklahoma Sooners and completes these Cowboys’ version of the Triplets.

Stanford’s defense isn’t nearly as strong as its offense.  The Cardinal surrendered 53 points against Oregon and 48 vs. USC, the only two currently-ranked teams that they played.  It wouldn’t be a surprise if Oklahoma State’s offense dropped their average of 49 points a game on Stanford.

Oklahoma State isn't in a situation in which they could win a share of the national championship.  If LSU stays perfect, no one from the AP will have a second thought about who finishes No. 1.  If Alabama takes revenge against the Tigers in an ugly, close contest, though, and the Cowboys brand the Cardinal, voters will have Oklahoma State in the back of their minds.

Either way, the Cowboys won’t be able to avenge their conclusion that fell just short, but they’ll force voters to give them the respect that they deserve.
