Matt Forte Injury: Sprained MCL Makes Star RB Worthless in Fantasy Leagues
Lots of rumors have been swirling around about Matt Forte's knee injury. The dreaded "torn ACL" tag was even being tossed around, but apparently it's not that bad for Chicago's star running back.
According to Jay Glazer, Forte just has a sprained MCL.
"Good news on Forte, they believe it's a sprained MCL, not a torn ACL. MCL can go anywhere from 2-4 weeks. Again, NOT an ACL tear," Glazer said via his Twitter account.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
While it's not as bad as can be, this is still unfortunate news for Chicago Bears fans. It's even worse for fantasy football owners who had a lot invested in Forte.
Most fantasy football playoffs start next week and it's likely that Forte, a steal in the second or third round this year, led most of his owners to the playoffs.
Unfortunately, those same owners will have to find a backup option in the playoffs.
According to Glazer, Forte's best-case scenario would be a return in two weeks. That would bring him back during Week 16, which is championship week in almost all leagues.
Even if he does return that week, it's likely at less than full strength. The Bears are battling for a wild-card spot still so they might rush him back, but it's still very unlikely they do it that soon.
Basically, if you hold on to Forte, you're using up a roster spot while having a very little chance that he actual returns and helps you.
The risk is high and the reward is small. If you have the roster space, then go ahead and keep him until the Bears officially put him on the IR. If your league goes 17 weeks, that's even better. Another week is a bonus in this situation.
But if your bench is small or you need to drop someone, feel free to let go of Forte. He's just not worth it at this point. You might as well take a risk on someone who will actually play during your playoffs.
