College Football Predictions: Each Conference Championship Game's MVP
It's Conference Championship Week football fans, a week that promises to excite.
Not only will some of the nation's best programs be on display, but some of the country's best individual playmakers will be front and center for the world to see.
Pay close attention to these six dynamic performers as they take to the field this weekend.
MAC Championship: Tyler Tettleton, QB, Ohio
1 of 6The MAC is all about offense, and the Ohio Bobcats boast one of the most explosive offensive units in the entire conference.
The leader of that unit, sophomore quarterback Tyler Tettleton, has exploded onto the scene in his first year as the Bobcats' starter. Considering Northern Illinois' knack for giving up points, there isn't any reason he shouldn't continue his excellent season against the Huskies.
Tettleton has two of the conference's best wideouts at his disposal in seniors Lavon Brazill and Riley Dunlop, so look for him to take full advantage of NIU's suspect secondary and put up some impressive numbers en route to a Bobcat victory.
Conference USA Championship: Case Keenum, QB, Houston
2 of 6It isn't often that a Conference USA player is in realistic contention for the Heisman Trophy, but Houston's Case Keenum isn't your average small-conference quarterback.
Not only has the sixth-year senior been one of the best college quarterbacks of 2011, he may be one of the best of all-time.
The Cougars' leading man has racked up a ridiculous 4,726 yards and 43 touchdowns this season, while throwing just three interceptions, carrying Houston to a No. 6 ranking and a legitimate shot at a BCS bid.
As for Keenum's upcoming showdown with No. 24 Southern Miss? Don't expect anything different from the Cougar QB. Five touchdowns isn't out of the question.
ACC Chamionship: David Wilson, RB, Virginia Tech
3 of 6If you haven't had a chance to watch the Virginia Tech Hokies play yet this season, you've been missing out on one of college football's most unstoppable athletes.
Junior running back David Wilson has had a dominant season for the Hokies, racking up 1,595 yards and nine touchdowns on his way to being named the ACC player of the year.
After opening the season with an eight-game winning streak, Clemson has fallen apart, losing three of their past four in ugly fashion.
Look for Wilson to tear apart the Tigers' porous defense to the tune of 150 yards and at least one score.
Big 10 Chamionship: Montee Ball, RB, Wisconsin
4 of 6While Alabama's Trent Richardson has taken the spotlight as the nation's best running back, Wisconsin's Montee Ball has been an absolute monster this season, leading the Badgers offense with his 1,622 yards and an NCAA-best 29 rushing touchdowns.
Ball managed to rack up 115 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries in his first matchup with Michigan State, and he should be able to put up similar, if not better, numbers this time around.
The Badgers will get their payback, and Ball will make sure of it.
SEC Championship: Spencer Ware, RB, LSU
5 of 6No. 14 Georgia hasn't lost a single game since falling into an early 0-2 hole, but it's two failing efforts exposed a major issue.
Georgia's run defense can be very streaky at times.
Boise State and South Carolina combined for nearly 400 rushing yards against the Bulldogs, and LSU will likely look to attack in the same fashion.
While both Michael Ford and Spencer Ware will get their fair share of carries, the Tigers tend to lean towards Ware as their primary back in scoring situations, as seven of his eight touchdowns have come from within the red zone.
If Georgia isn't up to the challenge and Ware gets 15 or more touches, he could easily put up 100-plus and a touchdown or two.
PAC-12 Championship: LaMichael James, RB, Oregon
6 of 6The simple fact that UCLA is even playing for a shot at the PAC-12 Championship is a miracle from the football gods, but the Bruins are in for a nightmare of a game.
The source of that nightmare? Oregon tailback LaMichael James.
The junior back has been one of the nation's best for a long time now, and he'll jump at the opportunity to light up UCLA's suspect defense that gave up 50 points to rival USC last weekend. James could realistically have one of the best games of his collegiate career in this one, and he may be this weekend's most impressive performer when all is said and done.
