WWE/TNA Opinion: 15 Wrestlers Who Deserve a Better Fate in 2012

David LevinNov 30, 2011

We want them all to succeed.

Every wrestler we watch and fall in love with for a move, a comment, a shoot interview or the way they shake their ass in front of the camera.

We all want them to succeed.

As you and I both know, this is not always the case in the world of professional wrestling. We see our stars mired in mid-level status, lose a belt when they shouldn't have and then take a "hiatus" from the company for "conduct detrimental to the business," or some other excuse like that.

It sucks, and it's real life.

There are four weeks left in the wrestling calendar. New PPV events are popping up to help celebrate the holidays. The culmination of storylines will tell a lot about what will happen in the next few months. Wrestlers will reemerge from coffins they have been resting in. We will see hope and despair. We will see the future.

Hopefully the future will be brighter for these 20 wrestlers as the new year dawns and we see what the two major factions in the business have to offer us.

We hope that offer comes with new angles that will make these wrestlers prominent once again.

15. John Morrison

1 of 15

When he is able to make his move to TNA, will the change be enough for him to become a champion?

Morrison is one of the most gifted wrestlers in the business. He is not as charismatic as he should be on the mic. But can he be the savior of TNA?

Not likely. And he shouldn't be.

Morrison should come in and be the enigma like Jeff Hardy has been, take the company by storm and then challenge for the world title.

Only problem is that TNA does not know how to write a storyline, so it comes to this.

14. Santino Marella

2 of 15

He needs a "real" gimmick.

While Marella is funny and a change of pace in the ring, he could be a very good wrestler if marketed correctly.

He needs a change because the act is getting old.

13. Tyson Kidd

3 of 15

I watched Kidd and Kofi Kingston on Smackdown and thought it could be a great rivalry going forward.

Kidd could be a star and since the WWE does not have a true cruiserweight division, Kidd suffers for it.

He has the makings of a great star. They need to build on it.

12. Abyss

4 of 15

I really think of all the wrestlers in TNA, Abyss is stuck in "no man's land" and has no real place in the company.

The face change was good for him, but he is still lower on the ladder than he should be.

A waste of talent.

11. Jack Swagger

5 of 15

Another competitor that is hurt by his past championship run and then a crappy angle with Jerry Lawler.

Swagger has basically become a jobber who needs a good feud. Sheamus and Swagger do not excite me and having a guy with this talent lose every week defeats the purpose of his potential.

10. The Diva's Division

6 of 15

At times, it is underrated. At times, it just pisses me off.

They need to have some dramatic effect on the viewers and that is not happening.

Divas are supposed to look hot and wrestle. One of these things is not happening.

9. Justin Gabriel

7 of 15

He has a good look, a great arsenal and can't get past the mid-level.

He is being miscast.

I know in TNA he would be the top cruiserweight.

Someone is messing this up.

8. The Tag Team Division

8 of 15

Or, the lack of one.

Remember when tag teams were a staple in wrestling? Where has that gone?

Bring back the 10 tag teams that can mean something in wrestling, especially the WWE.

7. Undertaker

9 of 15

I know injuries have taken him out of commission, but wouldn't it be great to see the Deadman have one great match and then retire undefeated?

I hope it comes to that.

6. Ted DiBiase

10 of 15

If there was a wrestler who fell under the category of overrated, DiBiase would be it.

Why can't this guy "get it"?

If he could, he would launch himself into stardom.

5. Mason Ryan

11 of 15

He is the Batista of this era.

But can he claim a world title?

We hope so.

The big guy needs to work on his speech and mic time. It may never come to that.

But he could take home some gold in 2012.

4. AJ Styles

12 of 15

It is already happening, but Styles is prominent again in TNA.

Woo Hoo.

Styles is everything you want a wrestler to be and then some.

And since he is challenging Bobby Roode for the TNA Title, he can add to his trophy case.

3. Jeff Hardy

13 of 15

I have come to understand that feuding with Jeff Jarrett does nothing for him.

He needs to be in the title picture.

He needs to be in the middle of things.

Hardy seems to have won back the fans and the locker room.

Now he needs a title.

2. R-Truth

14 of 15

Now that he has been attacked by his own tag team partner, does this allow R-Truth to challenge for a world title?

Better yet, does it allow him to turn face and feud with The Miz?

Both ideas are great and both would be a welcome change in 2012.

1. D'Angelo Dinero

15 of 15

No one has more charisma that is not doing anything with their character.

The feud/team with Devon is old and awful.

Something has to happen. Maybe Devon turns heel.

But this is such a waste of talent.
