Fantasy Football Week 17 Quarterback Rankings
As we enter the final week of the NFL regular season we see a lot of great games and good match ups amongst all the teams. And yet, some may be more meaningless than you might think. For example, take a look at the game between the Tennessee Titans and the Indianapolis Colts.
Both teams have wrapped up their playoff spots and realistically have nothing to play for. This means that we’ll likely see appearances by backup quarterbacks Vince Young and Jim Sorgi.
This is not the only game where more than one quarterback will take the snaps for a certain team, so that’s why it’s important to take a look at our Bruno Boys Week 17 Quarterback Rankings.
1. Philip Rivers (San Diego Chargers) vs. Denver

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Three weeks ago it seemed implausible that the San Diego Chargers could win their way into the playoffs and that the Denver Broncos could play their way out of them. However, that’s exactly the scenario we have with this game and Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers is a direct beneficiary of that.
Getting to play against the Broncos and their weak defense allows Rivers to earn the spot this week. In the week two game where the Chargers were screwed out of a potential win, Rivers was 21 of 33 for 377 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Don’t expect a repeat but do expect a good game from Rivers.
Point Projection: 25 Points
2. Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers) vs. Detroit
With the Detroit Lions at 0-15 and looking at the first 0-16 in NFL history, it could be argued that they are the worst team ever. This doesn’t bother Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers who will ensure the Lions’ march towards futility.
Detroit allowed Rodgers to throw for 328 yards and three touchdowns in week two and won’t do much better this time. In fact, the only thing that would hold Rodgers back this week is the weather at Lambeau Field.
Point Projection: 23 Points
3. Jay Cutler (Denver Broncos) @ San Diego
While Rivers earned the top spot this week, Denver quarterback Jay Cutler isn’t far behind simply because both teams are so poor in pass defense. Cutler was 36 of 50 for 350 yards with four touchdowns and one interception against the Chargers in the team’s previous meeting. Cutler won’t repeat those numbers but will enjoy another good game to finish out his season on a strong note.
Point Projection: 22 Points
4. Drew Brees (New Orleans Saints) vs. Carolina
Sitting at 4,683 passing yards on the season, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees needs 401 yards to tie Dan Marino’s single-season record of 5,084. It’s unlikely he’ll get there against a Carolina defense that doesn’t allow a lot of passing yards but Brees will still get his fantasy points. Expect a slightly better performance than week seven when Brees was 21 of 39 for 231 yards with one interception and no touchdowns.
Point Projection: 21 Points
5. Seneca Wallace (Seattle Seahawks) @ Arizona
Given the way the season has gone for the Seattle Seahawks, it’s odd to see one of their quarterbacks in any top 10 but that’s where Seneca Wallace is this week. With four touchdowns and no interceptions in the last three games, Wallace is playing well for Seattle. He’ll have another good game this week against the Cardinals, who have absolutely stopped playing ever since wrapping up a playoff spot a few weeks ago.
Point Projection: 20 Points
6. Donovan McNabb (Philadelphia Eagles) vs. Dallas
Last week against the Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was robbed of at least 12 fantasy points when receiver DeSean Jackson dropped a ball in the end zone and then Reggie Brown was stopped a foot short of the goal line as time expired.
Dallas has been playing better recently but McNabb typically plays well against the Cowboys. In week two in Dallas, McNabb was 25 of 37 for 281 yards with a touchdown. Expect another good game this week from McNabb.
Point Projection: 19 Points
7. Matt Cassel (New England Patriots) @ Buffalo
New England Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel is one week away from putting an end to an amazing season having gone from an undrafted backup to one of the better starters in the league. He’ll end strongly too this week against the Buffalo Bills. In week 10 Cassel threw for 234 yards and he has only gotten better since then, with eight touchdowns and one interception in his last three games.
Point Projection: 18 Points
