Fantasy Football Week 12: Add Brett Favre Before Texans Do
Thinking two steps ahead isn’t just important in chess. If you can make moves in fantasy football even before an NFL team does, your opponent will be left in the dust.
Matt Leinart, Matt Schaub’s replacement, now must be replaced. According to Jason La Canfora, Leinart is most likely out for the season with a broken collarbone and as a result, the Houston Texans are expected to sign a another quarterback.
Kyle Orton would’ve been a decent Plan C, but now he’s a Kansas City Chief. There aren’t many options left. One closed door that most likely isn’t locked just yet is none other than "The Gunslinger" himself, Brett Favre.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Houston Chronicle’s Richard Justice wrote a column last week titled, “Brett Favre? To the Texans? No. No. No. Next question.” In the article he wrote: “Matt Leinart is our starting QB. Let’s go over that one more time for the slowest in our audience: Matt Leinart is our starting QB.”
That lasted long.
Leinart isn’t the Texans starting quarterback anymore. Next in line to have the privilege to throw to Andre Johnson: T.J. Yates. In Yates’ first action of his rookie season, he threw 15 passes and completed eight of them for 70 yards. Houston failed to score a single point with Yates in the game.
The rookie out of UNC isn’t the answer. Houston can’t possibly win a playoff game with him under center. They may not even make the playoffs.
With a healthy Favre, though, the Texans offense would be dominant. Adding the grandpa on your fantasy team would be worth the risk of Houston not actually giving him a call. With the weapons that he’d have at his disposal, No. 4 might not be that much of a drop-off from Schaub numbers-wise.
Houston needs to make a move. As dicey as it would be, adding Favre is their best and only option if they still have their eyes on the Lombardi Trophy.
