Willis McGahee and Other Probables Who Will Have Big Sundays

Marco PatitucciNov 26, 2011

As always, it's important to watch those injury updates. And those listed at probable are usually safe bets to play and produce. Here are eight players (two at each skill position) listed as probable that are likely to have big Sundays.

Shonn Greene, RB, New York Jets

It looks like it will be Greene and Joe McKnight against the Bills on Sunday. LaDainian Tomlinson is questionable. The Bills' defense is ranked 20th against the run. There's a good chance Greene has his best game of the season.

Willis McGahee, RB, Denver Broncos

McGahee is coming off a poor Thursday performance. But 10 days' rest should have helped get his hamstring back in top shape. He'll certainly have the opportunity to get his touches in the run-heavy Tebow-led offense.

Matt Hasselbeck, QB, Tennessee Titans

Hasselbeck will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 29th-ranked pass defense. They've given up an average of 16 fantasy points per game to QBs. Assuming he's close to 100 percent, he'll have a big day.

Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Big Ben is going up against a Chiefs defense that gave up 34 points to the Patriots a week ago. The speedy weapons at Roethlisberger's disposal could mean even more points for the Steelers. Look for Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown to be the beneficiaries of an early aerial assault.

DeSean Jackson, WR, Philadelphia Eagles

While it's probably Vince Young who will be doing the passing, Jackson will still have opportunities to make plays. Jackson may have to create yards after the catch, but we all know he is moire than capable of doing so. Also, the Pats defense is ranked last in the NFL against the pass.

Wes Welker, WR, New England Patriots

With some of the other Pats wideouts (Deion Branch, Chad Ochocinco) questionable, Welker and TE Rob Gronkowski will likely be getting the majority of the targets from Tom Brady on Sunday. Welker hasn't had a receiving touchdown since Week 6, but I think he will find the end zone this week.

Tony Gonzalez, TE, Atlanta Falcons

I picked Atlanta in the eliminator challenge this week, partially because of a favorable matchup against the Vikings' 28th-ranked pass defense. With TDs in his last three games, Gonzalez will continue to be a major red zone target for Matt Ryan.

Owen Daniels, TE, Houston Texans

A big day could be in store for Daniels as Matt Leinart settles in at QB. He'll be looking at Daniels and Arian Foster out of the backfield for those confidence-boosting short completions early in the game. Leinart isn't afraid to attack the middle of the field either.
