Mike Cameron Talks Are Dead
It seems like a lot of these reporters are jumping the gun when they say these deals are going to get done. It looked like Cameron was headed to the Yankees, but that isn’t the case anymore.
Brian Cashman contacted Brewers GM Doug Melvin yesterday. The call was basically made just to update him with what was going on. No trade talks occurred during the conversation. Looks like the Yanks will be holding onto Melky Cabrera for now. Going forward, it looks like either Cabrera or Gardner will earn the starting job in center field come Spring Training, barring a trade.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Austin Jackson could also be in the mix, but I doubt he will get the job immediately. The organization wants to give him more time in the minors before calling him up.
Doug Melvin said:
"“He basically just wanted to tell me why he hadn’t called,” said Melvin. “He said he has had a lot of things going on. I told him we’re probably going to hang on to Mike.”
Melvin said Cashman—who was busy getting CC Sabathia and A.J. Burnett under contract—was upset about reports out of New York quoting club officials as saying the Yankees didn’t think Cameron was worth his $10 million salary.
“He said that didn’t come from him,” said Melvin. “He was upset about that. He apologized for that.”
