WWE Survivor Series 2011: The Rock's Win Proves WWE Values Him over Roster
Survivor Series was built around one person and one person only: The Rock.
His return was hyped on billboards, commercials, on the three-hour Monday Night Raw the week before the pay-per-view, video game, magazine and anything else the WWE could tie into Survivor Series. Pretty much, you could not go anywhere without seeing Survivor Series and The Rock in the same advertisement.
Which was fine in all, as we haven’t seen The Rock in a WWE ring since 2004. We all wanted to see what The Rock was going to look like after seven years off.

He did look great and it looked like he never took time off. However, now that Survivor Series is over, The Rock is going to go back to filming movies while the the rest of the active roster will have to pick up the pieces of The Rock’s pay-per-view.
The final thought from last night’s Survivor Series should have been CM Punk’s thrilling WWE Title victory. Punk and Alberto Del Rio had one of the best matches of 2011 last night. But, will you see any of those highlights to open Raw tonight? No.
Instead you’ll hear all about how The Rock returned and how great he looked and how amazing it was to see him back in action, and so on and so forth.
From now until March for the build-up to WrestleMania XXVIII, the WWE doesn’t have a guaranteed commitment from The Rock. Who they do have a guaranteed commitment from are superstars like The Miz, R-Truth and John Cena.
These three people were in the main event that was built to make The Rock look great while making them just look like people who weren’t on the same level. They were just there to play the supporting role in letting everyone remember how great The Rock once was.
If you don’t believe me on that one, then why was the finish seeing The Miz take a clean pin from the People's Elbow? A simple elbow drop was enough to pin a former WWE champion.
Last night was all about The Rock and the WWE did its best to show us how much it values him. It’s just too bad that it was at the expense of the rest of the roster.
