WWE: How Awesome Truth's Push Is All but Over
As we emerge from WWE's eventful Survivor Series pay-per-view, one thing becomes crystal clear: there really was a conspiracy to hold down Miz and R-Truth...they really weren't paranoid! People in power actually were out to get them!
Indeed, some vast wrestling conspiracy may be the only thing that could properly explain the shoddy treatment of the Awesome Truth, two talented and hard-working wrestlers (sorry, I mean, sports entertainers) who really do not deserve what the booking team has done to them in recent months.
Not only were Miz and R-Truth treated as complete afterthoughts in the run up to their tag match with John Cena and wrestler-turned-Hollywood star The Rock (something Miz even complained about on-screen on last Monday's Raw). In the match they were also marginalized and used simply for the purposes of helping get Rock over.

It seems WWE's booking team had already decided that this buy rate hinged solely on it being The Rock's first match since 2004, and that a decent storyline with Miz and R-Truth being pushed as genuine threats was not needed.
Ultimately, to the surprise of no one, the duo lost clean, in a result that only served to build up Rock's main event match with Cena at next year's Wrestlemania event. Miz and R-Truth quickly disappeared after the match was over, leaving Rock and Cena to have their heated staredown and confrontation to close the show.
Of course, in spite of some laughably bad booking and their poor on-screen treatment, both Miz and R-Truth did their job in the build up to the Survivor Series and at the event itself, with a grace and professionalism that many other wrestlers could learn from.
If either Miz or R-Truth had issues with the terrible booking they've kept it to themselves, and certainly the much-hyped tag match itself was great, with some of Rock and Miz's thrilling exchanges early on being the highlight. The quick and nimble Rock looked great, sure, but it helped tremendously that he had such solid and dependable performers like Awesome Truth to play off of and interact with.
Regrettably, with Survivor Series over, things do not look good for everyone's favourite rapping tag team. After this awful debacle, the duo have had their credibility all but destroyed by an incompetent booking team more concerned with getting Twitter and The Rock over, rather than establishing new main event stars. You know, the guys who are actually going to be carrying the company in the future. Got to keep their priorities straight, I suppose.
Following from this, after this burial it will be extremely difficult for fans to ever take them seriously again as main event heels. Heck, in the run up to the event, the invincible Cena managed to single handily beat up both Miz and R-Truth on more than one occasion! Arguably, he didn't even need Rock's help. Both wrestlers have been greatly damaged from their program with The Rock and it will be difficult to help them re-establish credibility on top heels.
It is difficult to see where Awesome Truth go after this. Maybe they can split up and try their luck as singles competitors again. Who knows? Certainly though, their days as a main event tag team on Raw are over.
