With the fantasy football playoffs just a stone’s throw away, now is the most important time to hit your league's waiver wire.
Players like Detroit’s Kevin Smith and Washington’s Jabar Gaffney had enormous games in Week 11. There is nothing that says that won’t happen again either.
The following list is of the fantasy waiver-wire pickups you must make to contend for and in the playoffs this season.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
RB Kevin Smith, Detroit Lions
There was no player more potent this week in some fantasy football leagues than Kevin Smith of the Detroit Lions. To say the man went off would be an understatement.
While his 16 carries isn’t a spectacular number, the 140 yards on the ground and two rushing touchdowns is more than impressive. Add those numbers with his four catches for 61 yards and another touchdown and you have one of the biggest fantasy days this season from any player.
With no return in site for in injured starting running back Jahvid Best, the Lions have found their new No. 1 back with Kevin Smith.
WR Jabar Gaffney, Washington Redskins
With the injury to Santana Moss, the Washington Redskins have been trying to find out which player would distinguish themselves as the No . 1 receiver.
With seven catches for 115 yards and a touchdown, it looks like Jabar Gaffney put his bid in on that job.
If you are desperate for a spot star at wide receiver or have faced the worst injury bug ever, Gaffney is a must own in almost every format.
WR Jerome Simpson, Cincinnati Bengals
While A.J. Green may be back next week, Simpson has opened the eyes of his rookie quarterback with his eight catches for 152 yards against Baltimore Sunday.
Simpson is worth consideration if Green is playing, but if for any reason Green misses a second straight game, Simpson would be in line for more of the same production.
Fantasy owners need to be taking notes about what’s going on in Cincinnati for next season too because this young team could be every dangerous in their second season together.
