WWE Survivor Series 2011 Results: Zack Ryder's Absence Was WWE's Biggest Mistake
Survivor Series was built around The Rock and John Cena and the tag line “Never Before. Never Again.” However, as much as the crowd loved seeing The Rock come back to wrestling, he wasn’t the most over wrestler. That honor goes to none other than Long Island Iced Z, the leader of the Ryder Revolution, Zack Ryder.
From the moment that Survivor Series started with the dark match of Santino Marella and Jinder Mahal, the New York City crowd started the chant “We Want Ryder!”
Then the pay-per-view started with the first match of United States Champion Dolph Ziggler taking on John Morrison. Both superstars came out to good reactions, but the deafening chant throughout the match was “We Want Ryder!”

However, the WWE dropped the ball by not listening to their fans as Ryder sat in the back.
The US Title match continued with Morrison and Ziggler putting on a great contest, giving everything they had for the crowd at Madison Square Garden. Yet they could not win over the sold-out crowd as all you could hear was “We Want Ryder!”
Normally the WWE does a great job in listening to a crowd like New York City, but tonight they would stick straight to the script. Morrison missed on his attempt at hitting his finisher and Ziggler picked up the victory shortly thereafter.
After the match Ziggler grabbed a microphone, but you couldn’t hear anything because the crowd’s chant of “We Want Ryder” drowned out the US Champ’s voice.
Here is where the WWE should have done an impromptu match with Ryder going over Ziggler for the massive pop. When Ryder finally came out to the crowd who was dying to see him, the reaction blew the roof off of The Garden like a lid on a pressure cooker.
It was a nice moment for Ryder as he led the crowd in a fist pump and “Woo Woo Woos.”
Whenever the WWE decides to put the US Title on Ryder, it’s going to get a big reaction from the crowd. They could do it on television on Monday Night Raw; it will be a great moment.
The WWE missed out on their chance at making Ryder into a megastar last night by not putting him over Ziggler. They could have gotten one of those memorable moments in WWE history that you see over and over again.
Instead, we have to wait for a crowd that will pop, but it will not have the same reaction that the NYC crowd would have had, which is a shame, because we missed out on seeing something magical last night.
