The 10 Weirdest WWE Fan Tattoos
WWE fans can be as insanely devoted to their sport as any other fans. These 10 men prove that with their willingness to mark their skin with an image of their favorite wrestler.
As a burgeoning tattoo artist, I'm especially curious about what kind of ink WWE fans are getting.
In addition to analyzing the thought process of getting Undertaker's face or Randy Orton's signature pose carved into your body, I will offer my professional opinion of the quality of the ink work.
Shave your arm hair, sterilize the area and let's get ready for the weirdest WWE tattoos.
10. Hulkamania
1 of 10For some fans, Hulkamania will run wild permanently.
My first impression upon seeing this photo was that it was fake, but I was wrong. Looking closely at the letters reveals lots of spots where the yellow didn't take.
Light colors like yellow are hard to make solid especially on such a large space. A few trips to the tattoo shop are sometimes needed to finish the job.
This fan is truly dedicated to the Hulkster, wearing his pride well past the point of no return.
Professional opinion: Bold solid lines on the outline, the yellow needs to be redone.
9. Taker Logo
2 of 10The great thing about these tattoos is that they don't immediately out him as a crazy wrestling fan. To an outsider they appear to be standard tattoos.
JR could tell people they meant anything.
The Undertaker, as you will see as this list progresses, is a mighty popular choice for inking on one's flesh. It's a good choice as the Dead Man is so tatted up himself and his awesomeness is something guys want to emulate.
Professional opinion: Both are decent but not great. The logo isn't as straight as it should be and the shading isn't spectacular.
8. Undertaker Script
3 of 10How many people do you think ask this guy if he works as an undertaker and is just helplessly proud of it?
This isn't a showy piece or particularly imaginative either.
This steadfast Undertaker fan loudly expresses his feelings anytime he's not wearing a sweater. Again, I'm all for choosing the Dead Man as the wrestler to get tattooed on you as he's one of the best ever.
Professional opinion: As it hasn't healed yet, it's hard to tell how much of that purple will stay. The letters are pretty crisp.
7. NWO
4 of 10Some fans wholeheartedly fell in love with the NWO.
While most of those fans expressed that feeling by buying a t-shirt or an action figure, this gentleman didn't think that was nearly enough.
He went big. He went bold. He'll now go to the beach and non wrestling fans will wonder why he has "now" misspelled on his calf.
Be sure to skip to about 1:15 in the video to get straight to the visual.
Professional opinion: The lines on the actual logo are wobbly so it makes sense that the tattoo is the same way. The black is filled in well with few blank spots.
It's hard to see if the script on the bottom is any good. I'm curious to what that odd stuff is underneath the logo.
6. Rey Mysterio
5 of 10JR from slide number nine is back!
When he likes a wrestler, he goes all out. On his left arm, he's gotten a tattoo of one of Rey Mysterio's masks.
This simple, bold image works well as a tattoo.
Professional opinion: This is solid work. It looks very two-dimensional, but that might be the look the customer requested.
If he had come to me, I would have pushed him to get a multi-colored version.
5. Hulk Hogan Portrait
6 of 10This bold Hulk Hogan portrait tattoo was done by Johnny Andres at Division Tattoo.
Of all the expressions to choose to capture, this one is a bit odd. Hogan looks like he just smelled someone’s jockstrap.
You have to be a huge Hulkster to fan to go all out like this. The tat is big and loud. I wonder how the fan felt when Hogan was revealed as Scott Hall and Kevin Nash’s secret partner.
Professional opinion: Portrait work is extremely difficult, and the realism is top-notch here. The photo chosen to base this one on was apparently a goofy one.
The colors aren't the smoothest, but the customer should definitely be happy.
4. Undertaker Portrait
7 of 10For those keeping count, this is the third Undertaker tattoo on this list.
There's something about the Phenom that has fans going to this extreme level of fandom. The logo and the script from a few slides back are fine, but if you're going to take that precarious step of getting a wrestling tattoo, why not go all the way?
This fan sought a high-level artist and got a gorgeous piece of ink. Getting the Undertaker's "Sara" tattoo on here was a nice added touch.
Professional opinion: This is a stellar portrait tattoo. If I were to nitpick, I'd say his right eye looks a little off.
The shading is fantastic and this was obviously done by a superb artist.
3. Randy Orton
8 of 10This big time Randy Orton fan can see his favorite wrestler's iconic pose any time he wants.
Maybe it doesn't matter to him that Orton looks like he's drooling blood and that this image of him is a sorry representation.
Professional opinion: At the risk of sounding too harsh, this is an absolutely shoddy tattoo. The shading is lackluster and Orton's face is a mess.
On the plus side, the script is done well.
2. WWF Title
9 of 10Every WWE fan has imagined themselves as World Champion, especially with the beautiful eagle WWF belt.
Some of us have even gone out and bought replicas. This man has one-upped us all.
He is certain to be the longest reigning champion as no one is taking that belt off his waist. So what if girls are supremely weirded out?
So what if as a grandfather looking down at his shriveled belly he is filled with a flood of regret?
He has appointed himself the biggest WWE fan of them all and it may be hard to argue otherwise.
Professional opinion: The work on this tattoo is incredible. It looks completely realistic. The colors are well done and the shading is spot on.
1. Hogan Back Piece
10 of 10The most dedicated and proud Hogan fan emerges victorious.
Every time he goes swimming or plays on the "skins" team, his enduring love for the Hulkster will beam from his back.
The best thing about this tat is that if he ever meets Hogan, he's likely to get a hearty high five from him. This fan may think that would make all the pain and ridicule worth it.
Professional opinion: This is bad work. Hogan's arms are misshapen and the shading is low grade.
On the plus side, the colors look good. Overall though, it's so poorly done that it makes me wonder if it's even real or if someone drew this on him with markers.
