WWE Survivor Series Results: Should The Rock Be in the Royal Rumble in January?
We saw tonight, at the 25th anniversary of the Survivor Series, that The Rock can still go in the ring. He electrified the already buzzing crowd at Madison Square Garden, by teaming up with Cena and scoring a win over evil masterminds R-Truth and The Miz.
Granted, there was not really a lot to write home about in the ending of the show but for a Rock Bottom to Cena after a cheer-off contest.
I have two questions following this pay-per-view. When will The Rock return again and how will he return? I don’t see any point in him being at the impending TLC PPV that will air 18th December 2011, as it isn’t really a huge event of the year.

This means the next possible pay-per-view The Rock could appear in is the Royal Rumble. But should he enter the match?
There are arguments to suggest that he should.
If Cena is in the Royal Rumble, then it would be good to see the two icons of different generations battling it out before WrestleMania after clearing the ring of mid-card superstars.
I have to admit it would make me mark out just a little bit.
It makes sense that Cena would be in the Royal Rumble because he wants the main event to be for the WWE title. Therefore, it makes sense that the Rock should be there, as why shouldn’t he also have the opportunity to carry the belt into the Granddaddy of them all?
This is an extremely unlikely scenario though as it means that one of the two would have to pull double duty, which would take away from their encounter. No gold needs to be involved in this hugely built up match.
Thus, there are also arguments to suggest that The Rock should not be involved in the Royal Rumble.
He has proved he can still go and doesn’t need to prove it again unless it is necessary. I don’t see the point of him entering a competition with 40 other guys when his main focus since March has been John Cena.
I think that he should make further appearances on Raw to try and emphasize the huge feud that's brewing; he doesn’t need to put on a pair of tights to do this as he is one of the best mic workers in the business.
Too many encounters with John Cena would also be detrimental to the feud, and I believe if he was in the Royal Rumble that this would be hard to avoid.
I personally think too much of The Rock will wreck this impending main event at WrestleMania XXVIII—I’m already sick of him if I’m honest.
The Royal Rumble will have enough guest stars without The Rock.
