UFC 139 Results: Who Should Dan Henderson Fight Next?
On Saturday night, Dan Henderson and Shogun Rua had a battle for the ages in the main event of UFC 139.
In a highly competitive, and very close fight, Henderson earned the 48-47 decision over Rua, and proved that age is nothing more than a number.
Not only was it a great fight for Hendo, but it sure made five round main events look like a great decision for Dana White.
This fight was being pegged by many as a potential No. 1 contender matchup, so one potential fight for Hendo would be against Jon Jones, or Lyoto Machida.
A fight with Jones would be a great sell. Old school vs. new school, Strikeforce champ vs. UFC champ, there are so many different routes they could go.
A second fight that Henderson could take would be a middleweight title fight against Anderson Silva, or Chael Sonnen.
A fight against Sonnen would be unlikely, as they train together, but Sonnen has never been reluctant to face a friend before.
However, the fight with Silva would be much better for all involved.
Henderson faced Silva back at UFC 82, and he lost via second round rear naked choke, after he won the first round.
A second fight with Silva would likely bring in a half a million PPV buys, if not more.
A third potential fight for Dan Henderson would be against Rashad Evans.
Evans was the No. 1 contender to the light heavyweight title, twice.
These two could square off in the cage for the next shot at the light heavyweight title after Lyoto Machida at UFC 140.
This fight could be the main event for the next UFC on Fox event, which will be announced on Monday.
Can't wait to find out what it is, and what's next for Hendo.
