View from Kingsmeadow, Volume 61: Of Cups and Swindon for AFC Wimbledon
More cup clashes were on the way for Terry Brown's AFC Wimbledon. The week did not begin rather nicely, with the youth side falling 2-1 to Bristol Rovers. However, they would get a reprieve when taking on Tooting & Mitcham United in the Surrey Senior Cup.
"We are looking forward to tonight's game. Several players who have not being playing regularly will get an opportunity to shine tonight," Brown told reporters on Wednesday. "Unfortunately, both Ricky Wellard and Charles Ademeno are suffering from a bug and can't play but they will hopefully be fit and available for the weekend.
"Tonight's game will also give an opportunity to some of Marcus's young fledglings who will be able to play alongside some first team regulars in what I am sure will be a very competitive cup tie. Previous encounters against Tooting have always proved to be very close and I've no doubt that tonight won't be any different. Hopefully we'll see a lot of our fans there tonight to cheer our young boys on."

With the Surrey Senior Cup in their rear view mirror for the time being, it was back to Football League Two action against Swindon Town, who they previously faced in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Last season, Swindon were relegated from the Football League One, finishing 244th with a record of 9-23-14 (41 points). The Robins are led by forward Mehdi Karrouchie, an Algerian international who has eight goals on the year.
Sam Hatton opened the scoring in the sixth minute, but a 73rd minute equalizer from Alan Connell consigned the Dons to a 1-1 draw at Kingsmeadow.
Up next for AFC Wimbledon are a couple of matches. First up in the first round proper replay of the 2011-12 FA Cup against Scunthorpe United. Kickoff at Glanford Park is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 11:45 a.m. PT/2:45 p.m. ET.
The Dons return to Football League Two action on Saturday, Nov. 26 when they face former Football Conference League side Burton Albion. Kickoff at the Pirelli Stadium is scheduled for 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET.
