UFC on Fox 2: 10 Fighters Who Would Be Better Analysts Than Brock Lesnar
After arguably one of the biggest nights in Ultimate Fighting Championship history at UFC on FOX I, President Dana White announced that the FOX Network would air another event again in January.
So, with high expectations, UFC on FOX II will air live on January 28th, 2012 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
In FOX's first showing, White was accompanied by former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar to help broadcast the event.
However, Lesnar might not have been the best choice as there are several fighters in the UFC who could have probably done a better job.
The following slides display 10 analysts who would be better than Brock Lesnar at UFC on FOX II.
Let's take a look.
Kenny Florian
1 of 10Kenny Florian may very well be the best fighter for the job as he has not only has the skills to do it, but he's experienced.
Florian had taken part in an ESPN interview with Jon Anik and Chael Sonnen earlier this year.
And, while many UFC fans across the globe still believe Florian has what it takes to fight inside the Octagon, they shouldn't be surprised to see Florian broadcasting more events post retirement.
Chael Sonnen
2 of 10We can only hope that Chael Sonnen would be on his best behavior if he were to help analyze UFC on FOX II in Chicago, Illinois.
However, even if he wasn't, Sonnen would be a huge attraction without even having to step foot inside the Octagon.
To make matters even better, Sonnen is actually an exceptional public speaker.
Rashad Evans
3 of 10While Rashad Evans has had his fair share of non-classy moments over the course of his career, overall he is an exceptional person.
In addition, Evans has proven to be one of the most professional fighters in the UFC simply by the way he goes about himself.
Evans would certainly be a better fit than Brock Lesnar at UFC on FOX II.
Frank Mir
4 of 10Frank Mir is just another example of a fighter who would more than likely do a better job than Brock Lesnar in broadcasting UFC on FOX II.
In fact, Mir has had experience doing so as he took part in analyzing fights for the World Extreme Cage fighting organization.
While Mir might not be better than Lesnar inside the Octagon, he certainly has the upper hand outside of the cage.
Randy Couture
5 of 10While Randy Couture is no longer fighting in the UFC, his legacy lives on as one of the greatest fighters of all-time in the sport of mixed martial arts.
Couture is also one of the best fighters in the broadcasting field as he has helped color commentate UFC events in the past.
Couture fits the job description perfectly as he has arguably more knowledge than any other fighter.
Jon Jones
6 of 10While Jon Jones hasn't participated in analyzing any fights in the past, UFC on FOX II could be the starting block for the 24-year-old.
Jones, the current UFC light heavyweight champion, would bring a different zeal to the broadcasting field and would more than likely attract his fair share of viewers.
A classy, soft spoken Jones would be a great fit for the job.
George St-Pierre
7 of 10Over the course of his career, George St-Pierre has been one of the most respected men in the sport of mixed martial arts.
While that doesn't necessarily translate into being an exceptional analyst, it could for St-Pierre.
St-Pierre is also one of the best dressed fighters in the UFC and has a killer accent.
Frankie Edgar
8 of 10Frankie Edgar is very similar to George St-Pierre in the sense that he is one of the best dressed fighters in the UFC.
However, there are a lot more tactics that make Edgar suitable for the job, and better than Brock Lesnar.
UFC fans across the globe have begun to fall in love with Edgar due to his heart and tough fighting style.
Edgar is also a class act and would draw many fans.
Brian Stann
9 of 10While Brian Stann may come across as one of the meanest fighters in the UFC, don't be fooled.
"All-American" Stann is arguably the most respected man in all of mixed martial arts and has a knack for impressing fans with his personality.
But most importantly, if Chael Sonnen respects him, he must be doing something right.
Why not Stann for UFC on FOX II?
Matt Hughes
10 of 10While Matt Hughes may never fight again inside the Octagon, he remains one of the classiest men in all of sports.
Hughes would also be a huge draw to help analyze UFC on FOX II as he is an Illinois native.
Chances are, Hughes would be a huge draw for fans and more knowledgeable than the majority of fighters in the UFC today.
