Why Tim Tebow Fans Need to Relax and Just Enjoy the Ride While It Lasts
The problem I have with Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow is that some of his fans seem to look to the former Florida Gators QB as the next great NFL QB just because the Broncos have won four straight games.
It's as if any criticism of Tebow the QB equals a personal attack on the man himself, and that his team winning is somehow an extension of the kind of leader that Tebow is.
Look, it is possible to question whether Tebow will ever be a legitimate NFL QB without being a hater and without making it personal.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Just like MLB pitchers whose values are wrongly dictated by the number of wins they get, so too is the love accorded to Tebow just because the Broncos have won four straight games.
There are so many variables that factor into whether an NFL team wins a game that it is patently unfair to assign blame or to give praise to the QB when a team wins or loses.
Yet this fundamental fact seems to get lost when talking about Tebow. It's as if he has personally willed the Broncos to victory.
Now, let's get something straight: I am not a Tebow hater. I am a Florida fan who loved what he did as the Gators QB.
But I am among the football analysts who just don't think a QB that can't throw can depend on the run only and still live to tell the tale.
Tebow will eventually get hurt with his reckless abandon of a running style, and his Denver team won't ever win a playoff game with a QB that can't throw.
Tebow is a terrific runner, but as a QB, he is just not accurate. Perhaps in time he will be (as I mentioned I am not a hater).
But all this love needs to be tempered by the fact that running QBs who can't throw have not been successful in the NFL.
I realize that it is almost considered blasphemous to criticize Tebow, but someone has to throw some reality into the hype.
Meanwhile, if Tebow is the best option over the short term, and he helps Denver make the playoffs, then why not continue to play him?
But let's not get carried away.
Tebow is exactly what Denver needs right now, but I'm just not sold on his long-term potential as an NFL QB. His mechanics are shaky and the sample size is simply too small.
But I'm not rooting against him. Just not rady to annoint him as the next John Elway.
