WWE Survivor Series 2011: Why The Rock and John Cena Will Destroy Awesome Truth
The Rock and John Cena will team up to face The Miz and R-Truth at Survivor Series, and there is a countless number of ways that this epic encounter could go down.
I stress that "could" part because there are some very distinguishable differences between could, should and will.
I wrote an article earlier this week detailing 10 surprising twists and turns that The Rock and Cena’s tag team match could take, but not once in that article did I say any of those things will happen.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Are they possibilities? Sure.
Are they likelihoods? Absolutely not.
If we’re going to be realistic here, the most likely situation on Sunday is that The Rock and Cena will absolutely destroy The Miz and R-Truth and none of us will be surprised.
I’d like to give the WWE the benefit of the doubt and say that the company will shock us, that something will go down during the match that leads to Cena turning heel on The Rock.
But I’m not an idiot.
I’ve thought that Cena would turn heel in the past—for instance, when he was forced to be a part of the Nexus—and I’ve thought that we’d see Cena take a clean loss at a major pay-per-view.
Yet, each and every time I’ve thought either of those things, I’ve been completely and utterly wrong.
The bottom line is that Cena is the company’s top star. No matter how us fans thinks he should be booked, he will be portrayed as an unstoppable superhuman until another star is popular enough for WWE officials to think they can replace him.
Until then, however, there are two things that will almost never happen to Cena. He will not look bad, and he will not lose clean. He is Cena, he is “Superman” and he is protected like the President of the United States.
If you think the WWE has been far too ridiculous in its past efforts to make sure that Cena does not lose or at least does not lose clean, what do you think is going to happen when he teams up with The Rock at Survivor Series?
Outside of maybe “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels, The Rock is the only wrestler on this planet whose stardom—in regards to professional wrestling—rivals that of “The Champ.”
The Rock is the most charismatic wrestler in history and its best talker, and there are very few men who have the drawing power of the “most electrifying man in all of entertainment.”
Now he’s teaming up with the top star currently working in the industry in John Cena.
This is not something that’s being done in order for The Rock and Cena to put The Miz and R-Truth over. This is something that’s being done to sell pay-per-views.
People are going to buy this PPV because they want to see what’s going to happen when two bitter enemies try to work together to win a match. Little do the not-so-smart fans realize, however, that the end result is always going to be the same.
The Rock and Cena will win.
I’ll put it to you this way for fans of the NBA: If you put Kobe Bryant and LeBron James on a team and have them play a game of two-on-two against a random duo—let’s say pretty good but not great players like Tyreke Evans and Danny Granger—what exactly are you expecting to happen?
LeBron and Kobe to wax the floor with those guys, right?
It’s the exact same situation with The Rock and Cena.
There’s certainly a chance that The Rock and Cena don’t mesh, and as a result, they lose. However, 99 times out of 100, they’re going to beat whatever team they’re facing.
It’s the WWE’s philosophy, and though I may not agree with it, it’s exactly what’s going to happen.
