Week 11 Fantasy Rankings: DeMarco Murray and Top RB Options for This Week

Tim KeeneyNov 17, 2011

This isn't necessarily a guide for setting your fantasy lineup, because if you luckily have these three running backs on your team you don't have much of a decision to make.

You start them all with confidence.

However, this is something to help you with salary-cap leagues where you have the choice of every back in the NFL.

Here's a look at the top three running backs for Week 11.

DeMarco Murray, Dallas Cowboys

I'm not sure if there is anyway you can ignore a running back that has averaged just over eight yards per carry since taking over as a starter four weeks ago (75 carries for 601 yards).

To top it off, Murray has become seriously involved in the passing game in the past two weeks, pulling in 10 catches for 83 yards.

Against a Washington defense that allowed some big runs to Felix Jones, who wasn't getting big runs against anyone, in Week 3, I'm willing to bet Murray has another big day.

Felix Jones is expected to be back, but owner Jerry Jones has already said Jones will move to a back-up role. Until Murray stops tearing up every defense he faces, you should feel confident about him as an elite fantasy running back.

Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings

AP was only able to pick up 51 yards last week against the Green Bay Packers, but he still managed to find the end zone. It was the fifth straight week he has scored and his seventh out of nine games.

He might not always get the yards, but Peterson is a scoring machine. Because of that, he's about as consistent as they come.

This week, Peterson is at home against an Oakland Raiders defense that is giving up 132 rushing yards per game, 5.2 yards per attempt and has gotten torn up by Jackie Battle and Willis McGahee in the recent past.

Heck, even Mike Tolbert and Ryan Mathews averaged over five yards per carry last week, but they didn't get enough to touches to make the Raiders look bad.

Peterson should get at least 20 carries in this one, and I have no doubt his floor is 100 yards and a touchdown.

Matt Forte, Chicago Bears

Forte struggled last week to really get going, but he still picked up 64 rushing yards and a touchdown. If that's what a bad day is going to look like, I'll take it.

A matchup with the San Diego Chargers should cure anything that is ailing Forte. Last week, Michael Bush ran absolutely wild against this defense, and on the year San Diego is giving up 127 rushing yards per game.

The Bears have really gotten away from using Forte in the pass game in the past few weeks, and I think they get back to that on Sunday.

Expect an all-around effort from the fourth-year back.
