Week 11 Start 'Em Sit 'Em: What to Do with Joseph Addai and Others
When you have "on the fence" players, so to speak, in fantasy football, it can get quite frustrating to figure what to do with them. Should I start 'em or sit 'em? Drop them and look elsewhere, or hang on until further notice?
That being said, here are four players that you may have a conundrum with, and what should be done with them is mentioned thereafter.
Joseph Addai: RB, Colts

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Obviously for this week you must bench Colts RB Joseph Addai as Indianapolis is on a bye week. However, what to do with him thereafter is the proverbial elephant on the couch question. Well, we've seen what Addai can do, as he put up solid numbers in Week 3 against the Steelers.
But since, however, it's just been nothing but disappointing. That being said, whenever he does return you can't expect him to dominate. And although he's the Colts' best option at RB, can we really anticipate him playing well after being out for so long? No.
Therefore, if you don't need him, drop him. Otherwise you may regret hanging on to him for so long. In turn, for the time being, try to find someone else who's at least suiting up and getting on the field.
Drop Joseph Addai.
Andre Johnson: WR, Texans
Even though Andre Johnson's been out for quite some time, he's still Houston's best player. That being said whenever he returns he is a must start. This week the Texans are on a bye, and although his QB is now Matt Leinart, the situation could be worse.
For starters, being that it is a bye week, that's just extra time to get the timing down. Secondly, more time for Johnson to heal. Also, Houston has arguably the game's best rushing attack, so setting up the play-action pass will continue to be another asset to coach Gary Kubiak's offense.
So, plan on hanging on to Andre Johnson. Because he will act as Matt Leinart's safety outlet. In other words, when Leinart is given the green light, his options will be limited, but one will be to just toss the rock up and let Johnson go get it.
Keep Andre Johnson.
Ahmad Bradshaw: RB, Giants
It's a tough decision with Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw because New York isn't that great of a running team, however, Bradshaw has accounted for 650 total yards and six TDs.
So he's most certainly a useful dynamic to the Giants offense. This week New York plays host to divisional rival Philadelphia, but it's a must-win game, so don't be surprised if Bradshaw suits up.
That said, though, Bradshaw is still a shaky start even if he plays. When coming off an injury you don't want to risk anything further by overdoing it right off the bat. Therefore, if New York wants him for the final stretch, limiting his touches this game, provided that he does in fact play, is imperative.
Bench Ahmad Bradshaw (even if he plays).
Carson Palmer: QB, Raiders
It's clear that Oakland QB Carson Palmer has been gradually getting more and more acclimated to being under center since his return. And what has helped in that development is the Raiders' rushing attack, which ranks No. 4 and averages 156 yards per game.
Hence, setting up the play-action pass is evident along with strictly dropping back as there's more defenders in the box to stop the run, leaving Oakland's speedy WRs in one-on-one coverage.
To that end, we see the Raiders visiting Minnesota this week, and the Vikings have the No. 30 ranked pass defense (allows over 270 yards per game). So if you haven't guessed by now, Carson Palmer is a viable starting QB in Week 11. It's the perfect game for him to buff out more rough spots and for Oakland to win.
Because much like Green Bay, Oakland needs to air it out and get ahead early, that way Vikings RB Adrian Peterson can't have the opportunity to take over the game from the start.
Start Carson Palmer.
