FC Barcelona: Why Pep Guardiola is a Better Coach Than Sir Alex Ferguson
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson just celebrated his 25th year at the helm of one of the most storied football clubs in Europe. That is an amazing feat for any manager, but the hottest manager in world football throughout the last five years has been none other than Barcelona's Pep Guardiola.
Since being named manager of the Barcelona B team in 2007, Guardiola has done nothing but win.
In the 2007-08 season, the former Catalan standout led Barca's B team to the Tercera División title.

It was indeed a dream start for Guardiola: one season, one title.
On the other side, it took Sir Alex three seasons to win his first ever trophy with St. Mirren in 1976-77 (Scottish First Division).
After just one season as the manager of the B squad, Guardiola achieved a tremendous feat for a young manager when he was promoted to boss of the Barcelona senior side.
As they say, the rest is history.
Since 2008, Guardiola has collected a whopping 12 trophies.
In that same span, Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United have hoisted six pieces of silverware. Impressive, but not as much when compared to Guardiola and the Catalan conquerors.
When looking at the two managers' honours, one statistic takes center-stage. That is, their number of Champions League titles.
Despite Sir Alex's years of experience, the 40-year-old Spaniard has equaled the Scot with two Champions League triumphs. However, he's done it in just three seasons.
While that should be enough to suggest that the two managers must be evaluated on the same platform, Guardiola's lack of experience will be counted against him and wrongfully so.
His resume may not be as impressive as Sir Alex's at the moment. However, when it's all said and done, Guardiola may just have the last laugh.
Oh, by the way, did I mention that Guardiola has won the league title in his first four seasons as a manager?
