Week 11 Waiver Wire: Top 6 Pickups for Final Stretch
With the end of the fantasy football season right around the corner, a last-second pickup off the waiver wire can give you the final push for a deep playoff run in your league. Some of these players are getting opportunities because of injuries, while others are just hitting their late-season stride.
Today I'll give you the top six pickups for the final stretch of the fantasy football season.
Laurent Robinson: Wide Receiver, Dallas Cowboys
1 of 6The fact that Robinson is owned in less than 50 percent of fantasy leagues is quite ridiculous.
Robinson is coming off a two-touchdown performance against the Buffalo Bills in Week 10, giving him his best statistical performance of the season. This was the third straight week that he was able find the end zone.
He is quickly becoming a top target for Tony Romo, who looked extremely good this week. With Miles Austin still recovering from an injury, expect Robinson to continue to get plenty of opportunities to put up huge fantasy numbers.
Harry Douglas: Wide Receiver, Atlanta Falcons
2 of 6Harry Douglas' fantasy value in the upcoming weeks is directly related to Julio Jones. When Jones went down with a hamstring injury against the New Orleans Saints, Douglas stepped up and had a career day.
His eight receptions and 133 yards were easily team highs for the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. He has great speed and got plenty of looks from Matt Ryan with Jones on the sideline.
Keep an eye on the injury reports for Week 11. If Jones isn't able to go, Douglas is a player that absolutely needs to get picked up.
Chris Ogbonnaya: Running Back, Cleveland Browns
3 of 6Had anyone told me that Chris Ogbonnaya would actually be seeing playing time for the Cleveland Browns this year, I would have fallen to the ground in laughter.
However, because of injuries to Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty, Ogbonnaya was given the start against the St. Louis Rams and played rather impressively. He had 19 carries for 90 yards on the day.
With Hillis and Hardesty out for at least another week, Ogbonnaya will continue to get the majority of the carries for Cleveland. While he may not put up Arian Foster-like numbers, he is easily capable of putting up some nice fantasy numbers.
Damian Williams: Wide Receiver, Tennessee Titans
4 of 6For the past few weeks, Damian Williams has been seeing more and more passes thrown his way each week. This week, Williams had five receptions for 107 yards and turned one of those into six points.
The Tennessee Titans have been looking for a true top receiver since Kenny Britt went down with an injury, and Williams may finally be ready to fill that void. He had a career day against the Carolina Panthers, and since Williams is only in his second season, he is still learning this offense with Matt Hasselbeck at the helm.
With the Titans still very much in the hunt for the AFC South divisional crown, they will continue to air the ball out. Look for Williams to benefit the most from here on out.
Lance Ball: Running Back, Denver Broncos
5 of 6Lance Ball is another player who is now benefiting from injuries this season. After Willis McGahee went down with a hamstring injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game and Knowshon Moreno went down with a knee injury, Ball was put into the lineup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Ball rushed for 96 yards on 30 carries, and while a 3.2 yards-per-carry average is nothing to write home about, the fact that he rushed the ball 30 times is the key statistic to focus on for fantasy purposes. With Tim Tebow throwing the ball only eight times on Sunday, there is no doubt that this a run-first offense.
If McGahee and Moreno aren't 100 percent for next week, look for Ball to have the opportunity to get another 25 or more carries for another 100 or so yards.
Andrew Hawkins: Wide Receiver, Cincinnati Bengals
6 of 6Andrew Hawkins came out of nowhere to lead the Cincinnati Bengals in receptions and receiving yards on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
This was due mainly to an injury to A.J. Green. While the seriousness of Green's injury is still up in the air, even if he does come back next week, he certainly won't be at 100 percent. Due to that, look for Hawkins to get plenty of looks his way while Green gets back to full strength.
Andy Dalton continues to improve each week, and his receivers are becoming better fantasy options because of that. Until Green is fully back, Hawkins is the best option among Bengals receivers.
