Manny Pacquiao: Time Is Now for Floyd Mayweather to Fight Shaky Pac-Man
Floyd Mayweather Jr. would be wise to back up his challenge against welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao this coming May, that is if he can't schedule the fight sooner.
Pacquiao defeated Juan Manual Marquez Saturday night in Las Vegas via a majority judges decision, but was hardly impressive in doing so, leading many boxing fans and experts to believe Mayweather has finally seen enough to step into the ring with the Pac-Man.
In truth, now is the time for Mayweather to make the money fight.
Pacquiao looked lost and elsewhere at times during the title bout with Marquez, and Mayweather is 34 and getting older.
Pacquiao doesn't always show flaws but he did last night, and it goes without saying that Pretty Boy Floyd is a much better boxer than the 38-year-old Marquez.
Mayweather will defeat Pacquiao if the two indeed meet next May, and at the very worst draw with Pac-Man.
The longer the the fight takes to happen the worse off Mayweather will be. Pacquiao is shaky right now, and has Marquez in his head after two controversial wins over the scrappy Mexican.
Mayweather has the mystique and intimidation factor to create even more doubt in the mind of Pacquiao.
The pressure of the super fight would get to Pac-Man before Floyd, after all, Mayweather has seen it all and has yet to lose a single bout.
Forty-two times Mayweather has faced the pressure of never losing a fight, and the May bout with Pacquiao would be just one more.
The time is now for Mayweather to legitimize himself as the top pound-for-pound boxer on the planet.
