Penn State Football Schedule: PSU's Best Not Good Enough for Brutal Final Games
After all that's gone on at Penn State in the last week, you have to wonder how much this team has left. Its coaches and players have to be physically, emotionally and mentally drained. How could they not be?
But if you wouldn't mind, please take a look at the last two games on their schedule.
| Nov. 19 | at Ohio State |
| Nov. 26 | at Wisconsin |
If they manage to hold their spot at the top of the Big Ten Leaders division, they will need to take out whatever team wins the Big Legends division in a Conference Title Game.
So, as hard as I am sure this is going to be for you, erase the last week of memories from your mind. Let's say that none of this ugliness had hit the university and its football team.
How would the Nittany Lions get through that stretch?
Ohio State has been a much better team since getting its suspended players back. Wisconsin is literally two plays away from being undefeated and have one of the best home field advantages in the country.
While Penn State did manage a perfect record, their games against the Big Ten's less impressive teams were hardly dominant. Only 10-point wins vs. Iowa and Northwestern were decided by more than one possession.
And while Nebraska is a good team, they are hardly a national powerhouse this year. Penn State played pretty much the same game against Nebraska that they played against the other Big Ten teams. Nebraska was just a little better, so they won.
None of that can be blamed on any scandal. The Nittany Lions offense just has no punch to it.
If that's the best they can do at home against Nebraska, how are we supposed to believe that they will do any better against Ohio State or Wisconsin, on the road?
I wouldn't wish what the Penn State football had to go through this week on anyone. They gave an inspired effort vs. Nebraska and have nothing to hang their heads about. But their first conference loss of the 2011 season will not be their last.
