Pacquiao vs. Marquez III: Why Pacquiao Must Call out Mayweather After Victory
Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez’s third fight is a big one to say the least, but the real show needs to come after their fight.
More importantly, it needs to come after Pacquiao’s victory.
Pacquiao must call out Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the post-fight interview to not only bring excitement back to boxing fans all around the globe, but to increase the chances of making a fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather a reality.
Why does he have to call him out, you might ask? Take a minute and think about the enormous ego that Mayweather has, and the pride that comes with it.
Do you think Mayweather would just sit by and let Pacquiao “punk” him out like that or would he actually man up and take the fight?
I’m willing to bet that Mayweather would cause a big ruckus over getting called out and let his emotions get the best of him.
Through all of this Mayweather ends up taking the fight, and fight fans around the world would rejoice. The real difficulty in all of this actually happening would be Pacman’s ability to call Mayweather out.
See that’s just not his style. The gentle Filipino doesn’t have a history of calling fighters out, so why would he call out Mayweather on Saturday?
I don’t know, maybe because that fight could “save” boxing. A little dramatic I know, but unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that everyone has been very critical of boxing in the recent years.
Not to mention, the success of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and them being on Fox tonight isn’t really helping boxing’s cause either.
I know countless of friends that aren’t even boxing fans that would pay to watch that fight, and you can’t blame them with how much the media has catered towards that potential matchup.
The bottom line is everyone and their mama would watch a fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather, and it needs to happen. It must happen. Furthermore, Pacquiao must call out Mayweather.
