Week 10 Fantasy Football Rankings: Ranking the Week's Riskiest TEs
Even though pro football has become more reliant on the passing game, you would think that TEs would be garnishing more appeal to QBs. Yes, there's the stud receiving TEs that stand out like Tony Gonzalez however, most teams now just go with a four WR set and are making the TE obsolete.
Now most are used mainly as an extra blocker in short run situations, which is unfortunate, because a big TE can be very useful. That said, here are the three riskiest TE plays of Week 10.
3. Jason Witten, Dallas (vs Buffalo)

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Make no mistake about it, Cowboys' TE Jason Witten is most likely your best start at TE this week. However, don't be surprised if he has another average (at best) game because of Buffalo's defensive capabilities.
The Bills may give up points and yards, but they're also extremely skilled in forcing turnovers. And as we all know, Tony Romo can be turnover prone at times. That said, Witten will be subject to a limit of targets and opportunities.
For Dallas to really control this game, running the ball early and often with DeMarco Murray is the answer. Also, Witten hasn't caught more than five passes in the last four games so don't solely believe he will dominate based on his reliability to Romo.
2. Heath Miller, Pittsburgh (at Cincinnati)
Try not to be fooled by the recent surge of Pittsburgh TE Heath Miller. Yes, he's one of the most reliable TEs in the game and Ben Roethlisberger counts on him in many clutch situations. However, that doesn't make him a viable fantasy player.
Only once has Miller gained more than 700 receiving yards and he averages under 500 yards per season. This season he does already have 434, but the Steelers haven't been too effective on the ground and they've also dealt with some injuries offensively.
This week Miller and the Steelers play a damn good defense in Cincinnati, who ranks in the Top 10 against both the rush and pass. Miller will get some targets, but he won't come close to his season high of 85 yards.
1. Kellen Winslow, Tampa Bay (vs Houston)
Regardless of whether Kellen Winslow plays this week or not, he's not a great fantasy start anyway. However, in the event of his possible return this week, Winslow should still remain on the bench.
Invading The Sombrero are the Houston Texans, winners of three straight and pit a Top 5 defense against the Buccaneers non-versatile offense. Winslow will be fortunate to even see a couple of target because QB Josh Freeman will be under much duress all game long.
Houston has a great pass rush, excellent coverage defenders, and an offense that will run the ball and control the clock. Hence, limiting Winslow's opportunities even more.
Even if you're in a league that starts two TEs, bench Winslow as he will be blanked all day in Week 10.
