Week 10 Start Em Sit Em: Looking at Players You Can't Keep Out of Your Lineup

John RozumNov 11, 2011

Aside from the perennial Pro-Bowlers who wonderfully perform each week, there are other players worth mentioned that deserve to remain as starters in your lineup.

Two are perhaps more well-established but are unfortunately a part of a dismal team, whereas the other two are emerging fast.

DeMarco Murray: RB, Cowboys (vs Bills)

Even though DeMarco Murray is a rookie and may not yet be your best RB, starting him is vital. Murray may have only gotten his opportunity because of Felix Jones going down, but nonetheless, he's proven to be the better back.

This week against the Bills, expect DeMarco to get a lot of carries. Not only because it's Dallas' best shot at winning but, because Buffalo's defense is very good forcing turnovers (mainly INTs). That said, Murray will dominate as well because, the Bills rank No. 19 against the rush.

In addition, Buffalo has played poorly on the road (excluding their Week 1 game at K.C.). So start Murray, even if another back has a somewhat more favorable matchup.

Larry Fitzgerald: WR, Cardinals (at Eagles)

It's hard to think positive about the future of Larry Fitzgerald's career in Arizona, because frankly, he's been their only legit player since CB Aeneas Williams. And being that the Cards' are 2-6, playing at Philadelphia, and average only 216 pass yards per game, Fitz still deserves a start.

For one, he's a better than any of Philly's DBs, so as long as John Skelton just throws it up, Fitz will out-leap them and bring it down. He's not going to takeover the game nor are the Cardinals going to win, but if Arizona wants any shot at competing, tossing the rock to Larry is their best option.

Maurice Jones-Drew: RB, Jaguars (at Colts)

If there's any reason why rookie QB Blaine Gabbert has success this season, it's because of veteran RB Maurice Jones-Drew. MJD is the heart and soul of Jacksonville and is the Jags' only legit threat on offense.

That being said, you have to expect the Colts will do whatever they can to slow his production and rightfully so, because forcing Gabbert to produce is much easier to defend. However, Jones-Drew will still get his solid fantasy numbers as Indy still allows almost 150 rush yards per game.

Don't be surprised if the Colts pull off the upset, but you can still feel comfortable about starting MJD as he'll also earn some receiving yards on top.

Dustin Keller: TE, Jets (vs Patriots)

Right now Dustin Keller is the leading target for the Jets and this comes as no surprise. On the year Keller has compiled 436 yards on 29 receptions, scored two TDs, and has 137 yards after the catch.

New England still has the worst pass defense in football, so don't think that any of coach Bill Belichick's LBs can cover Donkey Kong (self-dubbed nickname for Keller because of his size, strength, and initials of D.K.).

Sanchez will be looking for Keller as his primary target each time he drops back and for as productive as Dustin's been in 2011, do you really think the Patriot's poor excuse of a pass defense can stop him? No.
