Winnipeg Jets Have a Better Fit North of the Border
After 15 games, the recreated Winnipeg Jets have shown some signs that they can and will be successful. At least, more so than in their former Atlanta home.
Currently, they have earned five wins against seven losses and three overtime losses. It should be noted that Jets fans have not really gotten a chance to see the team play too often yet.
They are currently in the middle of only their fifth home game. This makes it tough to properly grade their overall performance.

It could be worse. They could still be in Atlanta, where passion for hockey is very difficult to find.
For the players, playing for a sub-.500 team is probably better in Winnipeg than being, say, 10-5 in Atlanta.
I have only had the chance to go to one NHL game in the last few years. It was in Atlanta. This had to be the most mundane, indifferent crowd I have ever come across. This includes all sports, in both the professional and minor-league levels.
Fans around me did not really seem to understand the game. One person asked what the blue line was for. Another had not yet grasped the concept of icing. It was not hard to see why the Thrashers folded and moved its operation.
Either way, support in the form of preseason ticket sales for the Jets was phenomenal. If they could just get the chance to start playing some more games at home, it would be a great thing.
Their schedule will rectify and balance itself out: In December, they have 12 home games. At the end of December the true character of this team should be much more discernible.
