Raiders vs. Chargers: Fantasy Sleepers from Thursday Night's Big Game

Tim KeeneyNov 10, 2011

Here's a look at three underrated fantasy options from tonight's Thursday night NFL game between the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders.

Michael Bush, RB, Oakland Raiders

With Darren McFadden out, Michael Bush will get a second consecutive start. Most of you know to start Bush as long as he's Oakland's starter, so he's not necessarily a sleeper in that sense.

He's a sleeper in the fact that I have him as a top-10 back for this week.

During his career, Michael Bush has gotten over 15 carries eight times. He has hit 90 rushing yards or more in seven of those games. When he gets a full load, he's productive. It's as simple as that.

On top of that, Bush is a sneaky good option out of the backfield. He has 11 catches this season and can usually be counted on for three or four catches if he starts.

On top of that, Bush has a nice matchup. San Diego is giving up 120 rushing yards per game on 4.5 yards per carry.

Bush is averaging 4.4 yards per carry for his career and should find plenty of room to run for an Oakland offense that has created plenty of holes up front. Start him with confidence.

Vincent Brown, WR, San Diego Chargers

With Malcolm Floyd expected to miss Week 10, the "other" Vincent will yet again have to step up as a weapon in San Diego's pass offense.

The hometown kid from San Diego State received six targets last week and turned them into four catches for 79 yards. He clearly has big-play potential.

Even with Philip Rivers' struggles this year, he has racked up tons of yards. Brown should benefit as the No. 2 across from Vincent "No. 1" Jackson.

Mike Tolbert, RB, San Diego Chargers

Tolbert is a must start at running back this week, and I would even go as far as to rate him ahead of Ryan Mathews for this week.

Mathews is expected to get the start, but he has shown just how reliable he can be. He's expected to get 15-20 touches.

Still, though, that leaves at least 10 touches for Tolbert, including third-downs and goal-line situations.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mathews aggravates his injury and Tolbert's touches increase to 15 or 20. The big bruising back is powerful in the running game, but also catches tons of passes. He's a fantasy godsend.

Don't be worried about Mathews starting. Tolbert will get enough looks to have a good game against this Oakland defense.
