NFL Week 10 Predictions: Projecting Fantasy Studs Guaranteed to Bomb

John RozumNov 9, 2011

No one is perfect and sometimes the best of players have a dud of a game. They are in fact inevitable and no player is exempt.

That being said, here are four fantasy football beasts guaranteed to be unproductive in Week 10.

Tom Brady: QB, Patriots (at Jets)

Tom Brady may have thrown for over 300 yards against the Jets in Week 5, but he also only threw one TD and had a pick.

This time around, don't expect Brady to even hit 250 yards, as the Jets are playing much better defensively, have more confidence and New England has lost some of it's swag the last two games.

And if there's any defense that can cause Brady problems, it's Rex Ryan's. He did it twice last season, so even though the odds aren't necessarily in the Jets' favor, they're certainly not against them either.

Obviously Brady is still a start and is a better option than your second-string QB, just be aware that his numbers aren't going to be on his average level. Hence, scoring a disappointing number of points in fantasy.

Jimmy Graham: TE, Saints (at Falcons)

Saints TE Jimmy Graham has quickly emerged as one of the best fantasy players around, as well as Drew Brees' favorite target.

He's averaging over six catches and almost 90 yards per game, but that will decrease in Week 10. New Orleans makes the trip up to Atlanta and not only do the Falcons play better at home, but the Saints struggle quite a bit on the road.

Atlanta has an improving pass defense, a Top 10 rush defense, and Brees has thrown eight INTs in New Orleans' last four road games. If you can find a better matchup go with it, otherwise starting Graham could cost you a decent number of points.

Calvin Johnson: WR, Lions (at Bears)

With a much more confident defense, playing at home and a division rival invading, the Chicago Bears will be prepared to shut Lions' WR Calvin Johnson down.

Last time Johnson soared over the Bears defense with five catches for 130 yards and one TD. So it is possible for him to dominate once again. But, on the road the Bears performed very well against a dynamic and versatile Eagles offense.

And although Detroit ran the ball well against Chicago last time, the Lions haven't been consistent enough on the ground to really be a multi-dimensional offense.

Megatron will see double coverage on every play, because to minimize the damages, Chicago needs to force Detroit's other weapons to beat them. If so then oh well, but the Bears give themselves the best chance to win if they totally blanket Johnson for 60 minutes.

Fred Jackson: RB, Bills (at Cowboys)

Not since their Week 1 win on the road against Kansas City have the Bills won a road game, and even that doesn't appear to hold much weight as Miami also won at Arrowhead.

This week Buffalo travels to Texas and plays the Cowboys who are not only desperate for another win, but have a better defense than the New York Jets. Therefore, expect the Cowboys to zero-in on RB Fred Jackson as his production is the key to Buffalo's offense.

You stop Jackson or at least keep him in check, and the Bills' offense begins to slow down significantly. Also, since Buffalo struggles defensively, but is great at forcing turnovers, Jackson's opportunities will be limited.

Expect Dallas to have a run-oriented gameplan that controls the clock and keeps the Bills offense off the field.
