WWE Opinion: If WWE Programming Is That Bad, Why Don't You Quit Watching?
There is an ongoing trend in the IWC and I don't feel that it's really a good one. I have been part of this problem a couple of times myself, but I definitely try not to be. Including this site, which I have a lot of respect for, I read two other wrestling insider websites as well.
My issue is all the negativity towards WWE programming.
It seems every time Raw or SmackDown or a PPV is shown, all anyone can say is how bad the show sucked. Sure, I get frustrated when what seems like booking that should be obvious to do does not come through. I also get frustrated when John Cena and Randy Orton are always in the title hunt.

But that does not mean that the programming is terrible. Just redundant. Nobody complained when Stone Cold, The Rock or Triple H were constantly in the title picture.
Sure, sometimes the logic in plotlines leaves me scratching my head, and sometimes storylines are even forgotten about completely, but I still get entertained by the action in the ring. After all, isn't the in-ring action the reason we all became fans of wrestling in the first place? If it isn't, maybe you should reevaluate why you watch it.
For example, this past Monday Night Raw had some of the better in-ring action for quite some time, in my opinion. Most of the heels were looking extremely intense and I felt more drawn into the action than I had for some time.
When I started reading the websites the next day, there were headlines such as "Is Monday Night Raw the Most Boring It's Ever Been?" and "Top 10 Moments From Last Night's Lousy Show." I am aware that everybody has an opinion on what makes a good show, and I respect every opinion because I don't believe that mine are right. The thing is, if you can come up with 10 noteworthy moments in a two-hour show, it couldn't have been that bad.
Maybe storylines weren't developed enough, maybe Cena doesn't need The Rock's help as it would appear and maybe Jack Swagger's eye twitch was a bit over the top, but it was still an entertaining show to me.
I fell head over heels for wrestling about 25 years ago when I was five years old. I would sit and stare wide-eyed at the screen at these larger-than-life personas who were doing things that no normal person could do.
And when I came to the realization that it was scripted, I still loved it and appreciated it for what it was and what these incredible athletes could do in the ring. The agility, toughness and athleticism was seemingly unmatched anywhere.
This is the way I still feel today when I watch wrestling. No matter how "bad" it gets, I will never turn my back on it.
I love a good storyline in wrestling, but I also love WRESTLING! I may from time to time talk about aspects of the show that could have been better in my opinion and I may sound off when something really irritates me—such as my article on the announcers a while back when yet again JR was screwed with.
I fully encourage others to do so as well, but if you are writing for a site and contributing to a section you profess to love, maybe the writing shouldn't include, "I'm never gonna watch again because (insert reason here)."
Just stop watching if you feel that way. The men and women still fighting it out in the ring will still be there to entertain me.
