Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Week 16
With the fantasy football season entering the championship rounds, you want to make sure your roster is streamlined and ready to go. And in case you’re still carrying some dead weight, here’s seven players that could provide a boost to your squad.
This week, we see reemergence of Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub, Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Carnell Williams, and receiver Antonio Bryant. These three in particular appear to be finishing out the season very strong, so it’s important not to overlook them. With that being said, it's time to check out our Fantasy Football Waiver Wire for Week 16.
QUARTERBACKS
Matt Schaub (Houston Texans)
Since coming back injury Schaub has thrown for 698 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in two games. He’s helped the team get back to the .500 mark with an upset of the Tennessee Titans last week.
Schaub is an enticing player because this week he’s going up against the Oakland Raiders, who are 25th in points allowed. If Schaub can play well and lead a team to victory over the Titans, then he shouldn’t have a problem against Oakland. He’s worth a look in any league.
Tarvaris Jackson (Minnesota Vikings)
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson got the start in place of the injured Gus Frerotte and torched the Arizona Cardinals as he was 11 of 17 for 163 yards and four touchdowns.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
While it’s hard to recommend Jackson to somebody given his consistency issues, it’s also hard to deny four touchdowns. The Vikings have been playing much better in the second half of the season and we’ve seen Jackson had good games before. If you’re desperate for a quarterback, or if you’re in a two-QB league then Jackson is worth a look.
RUNNING BACKS
DeShaun Foster (San Francisco 49ers)
With starting running back Frank Gore out with an ankle injury last week, San Francisco 49ers backup DeShaun Foster got the start against Miami and rushed for 76 yards on 18 carries and added five catches for 25 yards. The numbers aren’t eye-popping, but that’s still nine good fantasy points.
Ankle injuries are tricky and if Gore’s was severe enough to keep him out against the Dolphins then it’s unlikely he’ll be fine and ready to go this week against the St. Louis Rams. Foster should see at least 15 touches against the Rams, who are 29th against the run and 31st in points allowed.
