BCS Standings: Stanford Cardinal and More Teams That Got Jobbed

Andrew KulhaNov 6, 2011

The Stanford Cardinal got absolutely screwed by the latest revealing of the BCS rankings, but they aren't the only college football team that will be sore with the new standings.

To be fair, I don't think the Cardinal deserve the No. 2 spot, even though many experts ranked them there prior to tonight's announcement.

That being said, the fact that they are still behind the one-loss Alabama Crimson Tide is an absolute sham.

It makes no sense how a one-loss team is still ahead of Stanford, even though their loss came against the No. 1 LSU Tigers.

Like I said though, Stanford isn't the only team that got jobbed.

Here are a few teams that have to be pretty upset with the Week 11 Rankings:

No. 4 Stanford

Like I said, the Cardinal are still undefeated at 9-0 and 7-0 in the Pac-12, but apparently the conference strength of schedule is not good enough to put them ahead of Alabama, even for just one week.

We all understand that Stanford's true test will come this week with the Oregon Ducks coming into town, but it still baffles me that a team coming off a disappointing loss at home still gets the nod.

No. 6 Oklahoma

Before the season and up until they lost, I firmly believed that the Sooners were overrated. I think the opposite of them now though.

If Alabama can be ranked above an undefeated Stanford team, Oklahoma should be ranked above an undefeated Boise State team, just based off strength of schedule.

No. 11 Houston

I'll be riding the Houston bandwagon until they lose, which I don't see happening. This is the best offense in the nation, yet they are only ranked No. 11?

This is yet another example of the conferences and strength of schedule really messing with the integrity of the rankings.

That seems to be a trend.

The Week 11 BCS rankings, hot off the press:

 1 LSU
 .9931
 2 Oklahoma State .9447
 3 Alabama .8836
 4 Stanford
 .8749
