BCS Rankings 2011: 3 Teams That Will Fall the Farthest in Week 11

Austin GreenNov 6, 2011

The Week 11 BCS rankings will be released in a few hours, and several teams are going to plummet because of lackluster performances on Saturday.

These three teams will fall the farthest in the latest BCS poll.

No. 10 Nebraska Cornhuskers

The Big Ten sucks. There's no eloquent way to say it. It just sucks.

The top-tier teams in the conference are constantly getting upset by weak opponents or blown out by good ones.

Nebraska fell to unheralded Northwestern 28-25 in an unforgivable loss. Wildcats backup quarterback Kain Colter had his way with the Cornhuskers defense in the second half, running for two touchdowns and throwing for one more.

Nebraska is now 7-2, which looks fairly impressive. But their two losses are horrible. Before losing to the 4-5 Wildcats, they were absolutely destroyed by Wisconsin, falling 48-17.

The Big Ten is usually one of the best conferences in the country. This season, it looks more like the Big East.

It's a shame they dish out automatic BCS bids to these "power" conferences.

No. 15 Michigan Wolverines

Continuing with our "Big Ten sucks" theme, look for the Wolverines to drop at least five or six spots this week.

Michigan fell to 6-3 Iowa, 24-16. They never had the lead and were down 15 points in the fourth quarter.

Despite that, they still had a chance to tie the game in the closing seconds. Denard Robinson drove his team 79 yards in the final minute before throwing four straight incompletions at the Hawkeyes 3-yard line.

The Wolverines will still be ranked, but one more loss, and they won't sniff the top 25 for the rest of the season.

No. 19 Arizona State Sun Devils

The Sun Devils fell 29-28 to UCLA, their second loss in three games.

Arizona State has been in and out of the top 25 all season. After this loss, I expect them to be on the outside looking in.

They only have one win over a quality opponent (USC), and the Pac-12 is relatively weak this season.

The Sun Devils can work their way back into the rankings before season's end, but this week, they'll drop out.
