That's right, the "awesome" one.
I think Foley is picking the right guy for his final hurrah. The Miz, as much as he's arrived, needs that one memorable match in order to put him over the hump, permanently.
The "Hardcore Legend," who is known to incorporate a mix of violence and creativity in his matches, would be sure to have a very barbaric affair that will stand the test of time.
Granted, Foley is no spring chicken anymore, but his ingenuity around barbed wire bats, thumbtacks, chairs and fire-lit tables are more than enough to distract from his lack of mobility.
His selflessness in making new stars is unparalleled.
Arguably, he "made" Triple H in back-to-back savage brawls at the Royal Rumble and No Way Out Pay-Per-Views in 2000 that are still talked about to this day.
Next, his epic encounter with Randy Orton at Backlash 2004 legitimized the "Viper" in the eyes of not only the fans, but Orton himself. When people ask the master of the "RKO" about his favorite match, he still brings up that particular one.
The same can be said for Edge, whose character greatly benefited from being in a Chicago street fight with Foley at WrestleMania 22. Moments within the match—especially the climactic spear through a table in flames—are remembered even five years later.
For example, in the recently released "WWE: OMG! The Top 50 Incidents in WWE History," the aforementioned incident is highlighted on the cover.
All in all, Foley has not only done everything in his power to deliver a worthwhile match with his opponents, he has never had any qualms about coming out on the losing end for the sake of what is best for the company—whether it be Triple H, Randy Orton or Edge.
The red flannel-wearing icon's willingness to lose—in other words, to give back—has become his most important contribution to the business.
If the best-selling author's wish comes true, you can add The Miz to the list of wrestlers Mick Foley has gone out of his way to cement as a true superstar.
