WWE: What Does Drew McIntyre Need to Do to Become Great?
When Drew McIntyre showed up in WWE, he was given an instant push by being personally introduced to the WWE Universe by Vince McMahon.
He was being billed as the next "Chosen One" of WWE and referred to himself as a future world champion on numerous occasions.
His first few months in WWE were good for the Scottish grappler, as it saw him gain wins over many superstars, including John Morrison and R-Truth.

His first taste of gold came at the hands of Morrison when McIntyre won the Intercontinental Championship at the TLC pay-per-view.
Over the next few weeks, he assaulted Matt Hardy on numerous occasions. This resulted in a suspension, but he was immediately reinstated by Vince McMahon the following week.
McIntyre also had a short run as a tag team champion with Cody Rhodes, but the duo lost the titles at Bragging Rights.
Since losing the tag titles, McIntyre was drafted to Raw, where he has been in a state of suspended animation, so to speak. His main television appearances have been on Superstars, where he had a months-long losing streak, until the last episode where he defeated John Morrison.
The Scottish superstar has plenty of upside potential and could be a major player sometime down the line, but many people have speculated that his personal life involving former WWE Diva Tiffany has caused his push to stop.
The two had an incident at a hotel a while back, which eventually led to Tiffany being released from her WWE contract. This may not have anything to do with McIntyre's lack of a push, but you never know in the political world of WWE.
There are a lot of positives to McIntyre. He has the look WWE likes in their champions, he is decent on the mic when given good material to work with, and his intensity in the ring is hard to match.
The finisher he uses may not be original, but it is one of the more brutal-looking finishers in WWE when performed right. There really is no reason he should not be more successful right now.
WWE's youth movement seems to have stalled a bit, which may also have something to do with his lack of television time.
I am not a huge fan of McIntyre, but I can see why WWE hired him. He seems like a genuinely hard-working wrestler who really wants to be where he is.
His time in Europe gave him a good foundation to become a great in-ring technician, and his size allows him to be very intimidating.
I think it is up to Drew to do something to stand out from the crowd in order to get noticed. Truth did it by acting crazy and CM Punk did it by breaking all the rules.
Drew needs to find out what will work for him and then formulate a plan of attack because if he is relegated to Superstars for much longer, he may be in trouble of being released down the line.
Many WWE superstars who looked like they had a great career in front of them have fizzled out, and I hope the same thing is not happening to Drew.
What do you guys think Drew McIntyre needs to do in order to get back in front of the camera?
