2011 Breeders Cup: Uncle Mo Is Clear Cut Obvious Choice for $5 Million Purse
The biggest prize in Horse Racing is about to be given away as the start of the 2011 Breeders’ Cup begins today, with the winner receiving a huge payday of $5 million.
But, when looking to put money on this high value purse, you don’t want to look towards an underdog, or a chance.
Instead you want to make an investment on the best horse in this series of races. You have to put your money down on the odds-on favorite to win this Cup. The best horse in this race—Uncle Mo.
If you were worried about how Uncle Mo is feeling, just take a look at his Twitter feed. He’s tweeting out that he’s having a great time in preparation of the start of the Breeders’ Cup.
Okay so maybe a horse really can’t Twitter, but doesn't it gives you a sense of security?
So, let’s get away from a horse acting like Mr. Ed and get back to the facts.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle’s Larry Stumes, about the 5/2 favorite Uncle Mo, “Uncle Mo has raced as far as 1 1/8 miles only once in seven starts (five wins), and his only 1 1/16-mile race came in last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile.”
Uncle Mo’s owner Mike Repole said, “This is the Uncle Mo we expected to see his whole 3-year-old season ... losing 200 pounds in May and June and putting that weight back on and competing at such a high level ... to come up with those two performances was amazing."
Mo came onto this scene like a bolt of lightning back in 2010 as a two-year-old, but a liver disease set the horse back, as it crushed his Triple Crown dreams.
"It would take one of the greatest horses of all time to pull this off," Repole said. "This is no ordinary horse. If any horse in the history of racing could win the Classic after going from seven furlongs to one mile and never having run farther than 1 1/8 miles, it's Uncle Mo."
The only competition to Mo’s dominance in this Breeders’ Cup is Havre de Grace. Grace is the Frazier to Mo’s Ali, the Red Sox to Mo’s Yankees and so on and so forth. The thorns in the side of a champion.
This is Uncle Mo’s Cup to lose, as he is the best horse in this race. He should win this Cup and the $5 million prize. Put a wager down on the 5/2 favorite to win the Breeders' Cup and watch the extra money flow into your bank account.
