Week 9 Fantasy Football Start Em Sit Em: Tim Tebow and More Questionable Starts

Eric BowmanNov 4, 2011

Every fantasy football player faces the same dilemma no matter what week it is.

Should I start or sit this guy?

There are always the players that make you think long and hard about starting, which can be very frustrating.

However, this is where we come in. Leave a comment with any questions you might have and we'll help you out.

Each week there are different players that raise eyebrows in fantasy football, and here are three guys that fit that mold for Week 9, and whether or not you should start or sit them.

Tim Tebow

The Broncos quarterback has only played good football for about five minutes this season, but he gets his third start of 2011 on Sunday against a division rival, the Oakland Raiders.

Tebow is always a threat in fantasy football because of his ability to run the ball. I don't see the Broncos being extremely bad once again, especially against the Raiders' 25th-ranked pass defense.

Denver desperately needs a win, and while it won't be easy, Tebow and Company will play better this week. After all, third time's a charm, right?

Verdict: Start

Chris Johnson

Johnson got his paycheck in the offseason, and has appeared to just take this season off.

He has one game of 100 rushing yards, but all his others have been lower than 55 yards, which is absolutely atrocious for someone with his talent.

If Johnson can't get it going against the winless Indianapolis Colts, he's not going to fare well at all this season.

He takes on the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday, and they happen to have the second-best run defense in the NFL.

It's time to give up on Johnson. He's burned his fantasy owners too many times this season, and you'd only be asking to lose if you start him because he won't be having a dominant performance like many expected from him all season.

Verdict: Sit

Brandon Lloyd

Lloyd has 25 targets thrown his way since joining the St. Louis Rams, and he will continue to be their top receiver.

He's put up solid points without Sam Bradford under center, and there is a chance the quarterback will be playing on Sunday.

If Lloyd is doing well with A.J. Feeley at quarterback, then that is a great sign for when Bradford returns. Lloyd knows the system, and he will keep playing well for the Rams.

Some may say he's too big of a risk because Bradford may not play, but the Rams take on the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday, who happen to be ranked 30th in the NFL against the pass.

Verdict: Start
